Advice on building a ramp

Get a 10 ton load of #57 limestone and spread over it. Not sure out there in AZ, but up here that would be about $200 delivered.
This was my frist thought.

You should be able to pick your way through the rocks with an L3800.

If you just want something temporary to smooth the bumps a little, you could roll out a piece of 6' heavy gauge chain link fencing and roll it back up when done; then, if you have a grapple, you can pick up the roll and carry it. If you don't have a grapple, here is your reason to buy one.

As others have suggested, have you tried just driving over it? Unless the pictures are decieving, and sometimes they can be, it looks like you could cross it on a tractor - just go slow and take it easy. This would be my recommendation of the occasional crossing. If you're going back and forth dozens of time, would either rearrange the rocks and smooth them by hand or fill in with little rocks.

Good luck and take care.

Best no cost way is to just use some of the plentiful sand from the desert and fill in the spaces in the rocks then just drive over them. There seems to be a spot right in the middle of first posted photo that has some smaller rocks that I looks like you could drive over them now. With an FEL, this would be a 5 minute job.

Depending how often you're wanting to get across, I personally would just drive over it... If you're going in and out a lot, than as lots of other posters have said, just spread a little sand over the section you want to drive across - if the sand settles, just top it up

I don't think adding a little sand is going to cause any problems if you get a flood - the rocks are still there, and if anything the sand will help hold them in place....

I definately would not go to any expense - we regually drive over far more challenging ground conditions with no problems to date :)

Thanks everyone for all the good advice!

I have a Kubota L3800 (37.4HP), LA524, LP_BB1260, R4 tires

I want to do some landscaping projects so the tractor will be very useful in the fenced in area of the backyard.

The riprap is not very stable so I didn't want to drive on it and have it move.
Loved the "witness protection program" comment :)))

What exactly is funny. All I see is some good advice for cheap fix and a few deep pocket avises but still workable.

The riprap is not very stable so I didn't want to drive on it and have it move.

Add some sand over the top of the riprap, brush / grade it into the cracks and drive - it won't move at all after you've been over it a few times and the sand has settled.....

Think of all the money you can save to use on the projects in the garden / projects on your Kubota if you don't waste time and money just to gain access????

I wouldn't do anything to it. Unless you are going back and forth over it with a load in the bucket you should have no problem something bigger than a garden tractor over it. I wouldn't hesitate to take my tacoma up over that, let alone my tractor.

If your uncomfortable driving it, as others have said just fill in
the armorment w/ native soil and make a ramp. I might have
the Mrs, lightly watering the soil as you dump it as well for better
compaction.

When your all done removing most of the soil to make it look nice again is easy...

Just get a permit from the city, rent a water meter, do what is necessary
to get fire hoses and wash the soil away. In the long run the armorment
will probably be way more stable too! Heck, your local Fire Dept may
do it just to get out of teh Fire House if they are slow...

Be sure to keep us posted w/ lots of nice PICTURES!
