Advice on buying an upgrade tractor

I would be leaning toward the M7040 if you can find one and the M7060 with a 12/12 hydro shuttle. bigbull338 upgraded to a 7040 and foremanEtexas went from the 5040 to 7040 and I believe they are doing pretty much what you plan. I have an M8540 I really like, but you won't need to go bigger than the M70 I don't think.

TripleR is correct and I would have saved some money making the right choice the first time. I have two 7040's both around 900hrs and have been trouble free. I work them pretty hard too. Last year I baled around 600 of the 4x5s and maintain now around 800acres and pull a 12&15ft batwing.

Thanks a lot, just talked to Steve (barrows) a few minutes ago, re figuring the cash price, I am mixed up, our NH jumps about 8 thousand and I just don't see that although it is a heavier tractor

I priced the 9960 in Sept. '14. I seem to remember $52,900 @ 0% for 60 months. Equipped with cab, FEL, 12 speed, 3rd function, 3 rear remotes, 540/1000 PTO, radial tires w/ cast rear wheels, air ride seat, etc.
The NH T4.95 runs about the same $ similarly equipped. The NH standard alternator is 120 amp, Kubota will hit you with a $500 dollar up charge for a 100 amp alternator and you will need the bigger alternator.

One of my main dislikes with the Kubota is the exhaust stack is not corner post mounted - right in the line of sight. I don't know why they designed it that way since the 40 series tractors were corner mounted. Based on the Nebraska Test Lab, the NH T4.95 weighs over 8400# and the 9960 at 6700#.

Check out the LS tractors...incredible bang for the buck. I'm LOVING the blue and if I was going to get another that would be it. Happy with the yanmar till that day comes though.
