TC,

You can find them all over the place. Do a search with your web browswer. I know Midwest makes one. Check with some of the guys that advertise here on TBN such as CCM and Sweet Tractors. There is a company that makes a realy nice on here in Minnesota. I have the link at home and can send it to you.

Turfco

Here is the link for the Aerator that I was pretty impressed with. On the expensive side but I was able to put my hands on one a few years back and was built pretty good.

Hi,
Not sure if this unit is any good, but Agri-Fab makes a 3pth one that is available at Sears for under $300.00 . Just go to the sears.com website and look under Lawn & Garden >>Tractor Attachments >> Aerators . I am considering getting one of these myself.
Best Wishes,
Chuck

Here's a Frontier CA2060 that was at my local dealer a couple of weeks ago.

The Craftsman model is light duty compared to the others. To use it one must have moist soil and a lot of weight on it. In hard clay or rocky dirt, you're likely to break the tines.

I've thought about buying one because my lawn is fairly small. But the yard is new (not compacted yet) and putting that much wieght (incl tractor) on my wet lawn would leaves some big tracks. I want something by the fall, though, so I might end up with one for the short run.

120_2001 A.JPGSorry, had a technical difficulty (don't know what I'm doing). Let's try again:

Im using a friends sears pull behind 48" core aerator and it does a very good job.. I can get 2" to 3" plugs from my clay soil the day after a rain using about 80 lbs of weight..

Granted its not very heavily built and probably would not hold up to commercial (or even heavy consumer) use - but for doing my yard 3 or 4 times a year you cant beat what it will do for under $200.

Just my thoughts..
