When I was checking the oil dipstick yesterday, I noticed a metal strap dangling over the top of the air cleaner canister. Anyone else had one of these break? Any idea how it could have happened?
Tdog, I'm going to try to post a link to another post that will answer your question.
If the link does not work, search for Kubota 2 Year Survey
I had the same problem with the broken air filter strap, and the thread gives the solution. Kubota 2 Year Survey
I have a BX1500 with 54 hours. Broke it last week, a day after it was in for its 50 hour service. My fix is a large tiewrap. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
The way these little two cylinder engines vibrate at idle I am surprised more stuff doesn’t break off of them. At 20 some odd hours my air cleaner strap hasn’t broken yet, but then I try to keep the idle speed up a little to get above the bad vibration range. The engine mounts are amazing with how much of this vibration they can isolate from the frame.
Is this problem only on the BX 1500?? or does it also effect the BX 1800, 2200, & 22???? My BX 22 doesn't have any vibration in the engine to speak of..... very smooth, but it is a 3 cylinder

The previous posters have BX22 and 2200s...looks like a BX problem regardless of size or engine.
I did have my hose become unattached. The vibration at low idle is pretty hard on a 2200, and I suspected (and I believe it has been comfirmed by others) that the 1500 would be very heavy.
It's a good idea to keep an eye out for this sort of stuff.
thanx, rlk & others. Somehow I missed those posts - - or I read it back then, but it wasn't relevant. I'll call my dealer tomorrow. Should be a warranty item.
