Some years back, I had an AK-47, Chinese manufacture I believe. I put a 3-9x40 Simmons scope on it. With soft point hunting ammo, it made decent groups. got an antelope in Wyoming with it, at about 150 yards. Got some funny looks from my buddies carrying that out in the field.

I popped off a couple rounds at about 400 yards(scope was zeroed at 150). You could really see the drop! Did same with a 30-06; totally different...

I liked that scope mount better than the ones that replace the rear site and use EER "pistol" scopes...

Yeah, zero an '06 150gr at 30 yards and its about an inch high at 100yds and 3" low at 300.
