Here's the difference finally explained. Much of the alcohol consumed daily is beer and wine, served in restaurants and grocery stores, and without drinking to excess. A vast majority of those who have a drink or two during dinner or even lunch don't consume those drinks with the intent of getting "a buzz on", they simply enjoy how those drinks compliment the food and the social setting. However when one uses drugs the whole intent is to"get a buzz on", there lies the problem and the difference, alcohol is a beverage and 99.9% is consumed as such, pot is a drug and taken to get a high and should never be compared to adult beverages. Claiming thy are the same is an excuse to"get high" and addicted to "getting a buzz on" with ever increasing dangerous drugs.

1 - There is a buttload of booze sold from gas stations in NC
2 - Both weed and booze is a drug
3 - Both weed and booze is consumed for some kind of buzz
4 - Both weed and booze may not be healthy if people get addicted to them, and both can become addicting.

Booze is an aquired taste. See #3 above.

I don't know HS, I start to "get a buzz" halfway through a 12oz beer. I guess it has to do with how much & often you drink.

Every employer I致e work for has dispensed performance enhancing drugs (for free) in order to stimulate their employees to work faster.
The harmful effects are usually ignored for the sake of production. Effects include:
insomnia, nervousness, restlessness, irritability, an upset stomach, a fast heartbeat and even muscle tremors.
Most of the employees consume these stimulates at work because theyæ±*e free versus paying the dealer on the corner (Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, etc..)
Personally I stay away from the stuff as much as possible. çš„tç—´ a gateway drug! ( 98% of all cocaine addicts tried coffee first).

If every one that drinks Alcohol now quit and smoked weed instead, society would be better off.

No more drunken bar fights, no more DUI, no more Alcohol related domestic violence, no more drunk tank. No more college kids dieing from alcohol overdose.

Plus the sale of snack food would go up.

I've drank a lot of booze and smoked a lot of weed decades ago.
I still drink beer and an occasional glass of wine or shot of the harder stuff. Haven't smoked dope since the mid-1980's.
I enjoyed both...got in a lot more trouble with booze.

If pot was legal in Vermont...surprisingly, it isn't considering all the ex-hippies here, I'd probably do a doobie ("doobie"...now that's showing my age!) now and then.

There are 2 kinds of marijuana. One contains THC which will make you high. If you remember the 60’s…, YOU WERE NOT THERE!

The other contains CBD which is the medicinal product. It can be bred to produce only the CBD product. The CBD variety has been proven to treat chronic pain and other conditions.

Not all marijuana is “bad”.

Good luck trying to pass a worker compensation blood or urine test after they test you for that accident you had on the job.

Further, you'll have a tough time convincing a magistrate that the THC found in your system was absolutely NOT the cause of your accident and the loss of life to the other party.

How about, being a medical professional and refusing a urine/blood sample derective from a your supervisor.

Let's try this one. You want to apply for a job as a day care worker for children but can't pass a urine screening for your use.

Yep, enjoy your recreational drug use.

Most of us in here have used or use. That hardly means it's the smartest thing we ever did in our lives.

But, Hey, I wasn't put on this planet to tell anyone how to live their lives.

I'd much rather tell you to learn from my HARD learned and expensive lessons in this life.

I'm all for medical marijuana. As far as it just being legal for general consumption. I couldn't care less. I keep thinking back to my old roommate. Guy would get home at night, not bother to let his dogs out or pick up after them. Wouldn't even go inside. Would get home and only make it to the garage. Spark one up. Then sit there and mess with his weed for the next 4 hours or so.

I happen to live in a dry county. All for them making liquor sales legal in the the county. Would keep the tax revenue in the county Instead of the next county over.
