All set to go, except for one bit of detail. How do you prime a siphon that's over 200 yards in length ?

Fill the pipe with water by pumping water into the outlet end.

Could you plug the end in the pond and fill the other end with a garden hose then remove the plug and hose at the same time? A vacuum pump would work. A shop vac couldn't pull the water high enough.

That's a good idea, but I don't think you would have to plug the end in the pond. You would want to leave it open to let the water coming in from the hose force the air out. Then, remove the water hose and voila!

It's still fun to speculate what the OP did, even though this was done 6-8 years ago.

Put a valve on each end. Lay the pipe on an incline and pump it full of water, letting all air escape. Close the valves. Put the ends in their respective places and open the valves.

I thot you had to be done by 2006.
