We've got 2 D-17's in the shed right now...
A series 3 and series 4...
Dad sold AC's from 59-83...
We pulled 3-16" bottom plows with them...
Could burn two tanks of fuel in a day pulling those plows...
Good utility tractor in the day and used for bailing, raking, ect...
Engines are very reliable and sleeved...
Both of the units in the shed have over 4K hours on them..,.
They run good but could use an overhaul...
Good cheap horsepower...
The power diverter hand clutch works very good...
The collar shift tranny is not synchronized but you can shift from high to low with the clutch on the go...
2nd gear low range is actually 3rd and high range is 5th...
We normally plowed in 5th...
3rd gear low range is 4th and high range is 6th...
In red clay they could not pull those 16" plows in 6th...
