Have you looked at used 2520's. Seems those can be had with low hours within the price range you shoooting for.

I can't find any used JD compacts up here (Canada). . .and then I'd lose the 0% kicker. If it weren't for that, I'd just stick with my (very) old MF.

I have priced Kubota's (just quickly) and they are $1000 cheaper for the same class over the phone. Effectively 10% discount vs. 5% at JD. Perhaps I'll keep running my comparisons and see if JD want to come down on the 25. Maybe that will make the jump a little easier.

I've been really happy with my 2320. I have done a number of projects and it has done them very well.

If anything I would have gone to the 3000 series for my next step up. Seems like anything that I would want to do that is overkill for the 2320 would be overkill for the 2520 (like pick up a 1200-1300 pound bale of hay).

I bought a 2320 last friday, moving up from a 2210. I am still waiting for delivery. I was able to drive it around the dealers lot with the loader & 62D mower mounted. The dealers lot has a lot of slopes similar to my property. The tractor seamed stable & I did not think it was short on power. I hope to get it Thursday. I also checked out a 2520. I did not think I would gain alot for the extra money. My only concern is if the R4 tires will damage the turff.

Thanks for that. I went around a few times today, and after talking to Kubota and again to my dealer . . .I don't think I'm willing to spend the extra 2-3K on either . .the 2320 will have to do it. It's great to hear some "happy" 2320 owners chime in. Comforting actully!

Hi aesanders, I've read from another TBNer that picking up a 1000# bale of hay is do-able with a 2320. That's one reason I'm considering moving to a 2320 from my existing 2305. There's also a bale fork option off the 3ph. The 2320 and 2520 are rated for 1150# 24inches being the link pins.

I'd imagine it would handle a 1k bale ok. The bales that my neighbor sells are around 1300 lb's bone dry. If they get a little wet they are 1500lb's, and that would be way to much for the 2320. It could roll them around, but not pick them up. I've moved some logs and rocks with the 2320 that must have weighed around 1000-1100 pounds. I wouldn't want to pick up any more. The log made the tractor feel pretty tippy and I had a fair amount of counter weight on it. had to carry it for about 500 feet and was glad when I dumped it. I'm looking for someone who has slightly smaller bales that I could use.

I also moved up to a 2320 from a 2210. I did some "pushin' it to it's limit" work with the 2210, so I knew the 2320 would replace the 2210 and have extra to spare. I was moving 1000# round bales with the 2210, chained to the bucket, but what a pain. I wanted to be able to put a fork of some kind on the loader, so I could just stab em and go. The 2320 does that for me and more with a much more stable and safe feeling from the seat. For what the 2520 had to offer over the 2320 for the extra $$$$$, I didn't feel I would benefit that much from it. I've read on TBN that one will need to remove mower brackets to install the brackets for the backhoe, where as on the 2320, the mower brackets can stay on when installing the backhoe brackets. Just another reason I'm glad I got the 2320 instead of the 2520.
I know you will make the correct choice.

Yep a little bigger is typically better over the wide range of tasking you might get into.
