Well I've been using my new 2320 for almost two weeks now, and so far it's everything I hoped it would be. Feels more stable on the slopes than I thought it would, and I like the ability to slow to a crawl with the HST and back to speed so easily. Of course I upgraded from a manual shift with a stick throttle lever! The 2320 does not seem underpowered to me on the hills while running in low range- but high range won't handle the slopes. I cut and run it in low range for almost everything anyway. The 670 has an even smaller engine, although the low end torque is a little better- it will really go low range whereas the 2320 low seems to be a higher gear speed. And yes, the 2320 high range will really scoot! Wish I had the terrain and acreage to really use it... The loader works very well, and is easy to remove. I've heeded the advice to make sure to use a level hard surface for the stand. I've already moved some chipped wood piles, logs, mud, etc. Lifted out a small stump that I couldn't pull out last year. I have the 53 inch bucket to stay a little smaller and work in narrow places. But I can see the advantage of a 61 inch when paralleling a border... the bucket is then wider than the wheels, and can scoop or scrap more closely than a 53 because the wheels are too close to the same border. But I still think I like the smaller form factor... I won't be moving enough soil or gravel to make a difference. I need to get a toothbar... forgot about that! The tiller does well so far, but I've only used it to till the top 3 inches or so until it dries out a little more. Finally used the mower deck for almost 3 hours today and it works wonderfully. Like one of the other posters mentioned, I raised the "anti-scalp" wheels higher than normal and just put the suspended deck in the position I want. Sometimes have a lower cut on the down slope side, but that's fine. By the way, my old 670 deck would dig in the grass like some of the complaints for the 62D deck, but mostly when going in reverse. The wheels don't seem to pivot very well and can turn sideways in reverse, dragging the grass and dirt with it. I don't mow in reverse much, so it was never really a problem. Re. tractor size, I almost went with a 2305, but think the larger machine is a better choice for my property (10 acres), slopes and overall workload. The 2520 is not much larger than the 2320, but is a little higher with larger wheels... I would not want anything bigger, but I'm sure the extra power is always a plus. Something I really like is the more open deck of the 2320. Maybe I wouldn't notice it on the 2520, but my old 670 has a "hump" in the middle and I like the absence of that. All great machines- good luck!

That's a great review. Lots of useful info for me and even more confidence in my choice. Really glad you find the hill use good in low. I think I was missing that detail on other reviews where the owners were tentative when talking about 'high range' use on hills. And your points about stability and open deck. That's helpful. I appreciate you taking the time. I'm getting very excited and enjoy hearing all the details of owners uses. Thanks!

Are you using FWD on the hills? If not that should help/ i know with my 4100 (2320's ancestor), once i filled the tires, I had to go FWD to get up one hill i have, even in low!

Nuru- That's a great point. I have found it climbs the hills much better in FWD, and began using it more...I forgot that at first. I had the 2320 tires filled 80-90%, and added 50# wheel weights to each side for slope stability- I estimated it adds close to 350# + to the machine. So it's MUCH heavier than the old 670 with no filled tires or wheel weights, and it's easy for me to forget that when trying to compare the "feel" of the tractor or performance as I drive it around. It's probably 500-600 # heavier overall than the 670 doing the same work. By the way, I've been pleasantly surprised with the R4 tires on the grass. They do tear up the sod if the soil is pretty damp or on sharp turns uphill. But as usual, the turf will be nearly as hard as concrete by August, so I'll just watch the weather...

No problem, When my 4310 was delivered, i saw it tear up some turf right away. so remembering that my 4100 tore up turf on those slopes just riding ove rit on occassion. I went for the deal on the Turf specials, and sofar so good. Probably be better once I get the 300cx off the tractor. I have been waiting as i want to see where I will put it while it is off the tractor. Dunno yet, whether it will be the main garage or the detached one. Gotta make a few dump runs to really figure that out!

I have a JD 2520 with JD 72" MMM and Hydraulic Dump Collection system. I cut about 5 acres, not completly clear but there are still hundreds of trees. Property looks like a golf course. If I do not use the collection system which comes off in about 5 minutes with the I-Match hitch, I can mow the whole place in about 2 hours flat. Let me tell you the only time I have to back off of the hydrostatic drive is if the grass is 9"+ and going up hill. I also keep my blades sharp...no need to stress my JD.

If you have 5-10 acres clear I would put this set-up against a front mover any day! No question 2520 & 72" MMM, that is of course unless you just want to drive the tractor longer for fun!

If you got Slopes; go with the 2520. The 2320 will do it, but extra power will potentially come in handy.
