7/16,s OSB here as well , now that the price is back down again ( $5,25 for 4x8 sheets ), I caulk the joints as I put it up & screw it on . Then use the mesh self stick tape for the seams , Smooth it over with caulk & roll on a good exterior white paint on it .

Keeps it protected in case it gets wet using My power washer to clean the floors & looks decent enough for a shed or shop . Bob

I put drywall up in my garage attached to the house last year and I don't want to have to mud and tape the seams. I thought what I may try and do is use 1x4 pine boards and use these to cover the long seams and then use the same boards to go between the long seams to cover the 4 ft seams. So I hope to give the ceiling the look of 4ft squares then all I have to do is prime and paint it and should be done.

Now all I need to do is get the rest of my "HONEY DO" list done and maybe I can get it done before winter!!!!:)

I got some 7/16" OSB for about $5 a sheet and used that to enclose the walls of my shop. I used Torx head deck screws to fasten it. Drywall was $8.95 a sheet at that time and and you have to mud and tape it etc to finish it. OSZB really stiffens the structure and can be sprayed with paint or varnish to finish.

I did 3 walls, and my ceiling in what they call cover sheet. Run through the same dies as the outside material. This is the material that they "cover" your metal with when shipping, to protect it.

It is white, and reflects light well. Never have to paint. I used "F" channel at the top, and caulked the bottom. My thought was... Easy cleanup, you can do it with a hose.. But back then, I bought it off an Amish man, with his own machine, cut to length, for 75 cents per lineal foot...

The studded wall, we used 1X6's as perlins to screw the metal to. The wall to the front of the shop, I used 3/4" plywood, and painted white. I used many "L" hooks to hang wrench sets, hammers, etc.

At the time, it was the most economical way to go, as far as durability, and maintenance... That was 15 years ago, and still looks great.
