Am i the only one who loves woodworking?

I enjoy it but like others just don't have the time for it. When I was a teenager my grandfather and me built moms kitchen cabinets and the bathroom vanity. I'm getting closer to a similar setup every year and one day I'll have just what I want.

Nope, I'm retired from many years of owning/running my own custom furniture/cabinet shop.....and I still have a very complete wood shop to tinker in... BUT, these days I'm enjoying turning these,

into this,

so I can build things I want, like this hunting blind,

and I'm enjoying doing it!

I like woodworking, but don't have time any more to do it. If I loved it, I guess I would make the time. My largest project was my kitchen cabinets, and have built bookcases. years ago I made a bed headboard and footboard, but I have taken it apart.

Here is my first end grain cutting board. The pattern doesn't line up right and it doesn't sit level. Next picture is a rough turned bowl I turned tonight. You turn bowls green then let them dry and finish turn them later.

Would you care to explain why you turn them green?

Also how do you spin that thing without breaking an arm?

There are several reasons to turn green. Finding dry wood that size is almost impossible, and even if you did it is much harder to turn. Green wood is easily peeled away in large stringy shavings. Green wood is free and dry wood is expensive. Your tools stay sharp much longer cutting green wood VS dry wood, and there isn't any dust. About not breaking an arm, a YouTube video would better explain that.

The article said you use a homemade lathe to cut the wood for the guitar, but there aren't any round parts. Just curious if you don't play a guitar what made you decide to build one? I am certainly not knocking your work so please don't take it that way. I'm just asking questions.
