This TSC box blade is only rated 32hp and my LS is 42hp. Would I just destroy it or could I just slice slower? Never used a box blade before.
I buy all of my attachments from a real tractor and implement dealer in town. They were there before TSC came to town and they'll be there after it closes up. And when I have a problem or need to be educated, they are happy (and... big plus) able to help. You're not going to get that from the teenage checker at TSC.This TSC box blade is only rated 32hp and my LS is 42hp. Would I just destroy it or could I just slice slower? Never used a box blade before.
Yeah, it’s probably more of a weight rating as you say. It's kind of an odd rating. Your engine HP is 42. Who knows how much drawbar HP your machine has? It's not listed anywhere. I could see someone rating a powered implement, like a brush cutter for example, in how many HP maximum it can handle from the PTO. But an implement like a box blade is pulled through the dirt. So it should be rated at how many draw bar HP the machine can put down, shouldn't it?
I imagine the manufacturer's rating is a generalization as to the weight and traction that the average 25-35 engine HP tractor has, and that's about it.
So if they'r saying 35hp max, and yours puts out 42, that's 20% more HP, so no warranty claims (is there a warranty?).
Reading the reviews, the first one in the list said someone with a 42hp Kubota ripped a ripper out of the thing when caught on a root, so there you go.
So I went ahead and bought it. They discounted it $200 for getting TSC credit with 0% interest. It’s the only place within 90 miles of me that sells this stuff. I’m just gonna be easy on it until I see what it’s made of. The soils I’m working are pretty loamy with an occasional surprise rock. I’m doing a bunch tomorrow. I’ll update my findings.

XTreme Compact Tractor Box Blade, grader box - Everything Attachments
Top quality XTreme compact tractor box blade, grader box, box scraper, made in USA by Everything Attachments. Free shipping within 1,000 miles.www.everythingattachments.com
$300 more.
BUy once, cry once.
Availability is often a consideration.Typically the US made, superior quality part is at LEAST 50% more, if not outright 2x. In this case, the EA 72" box blade is a few hundred dollars more ($200 more list, but there is shipping if you're not within 1000miles of them).
IMHO here is one case it would be VERY hard to justify the chinese import - the EA stuff is really well made, better steel, stateside work. YMMV.
Fair enough. i did just get my ea grapple, which was ordered in september.Availability is often a consideration.
If you start searching for Countyline implements you'll find references to them being made for TSC by Tartar in Kentucky, USA. There's even a couple pictures of Tartar logos peeling off and it says Countyline underneath. So, take it with a grain of salt, but it doesn't appear it's Chinese made. This TSC box blade is only rated 32hp and my LS is 42hp. Would I just destroy it or could I just slice slower? Never used a box blade before.
I can’t even imaging what a slab of 1/4 or 3/8 steel is going for these days.Keep us updated on how it works out. I've been planning to build one for several years... it hasn't happened yet so last week I went to their website to order a 5 foot model. They've almost doubled in price since I last looked at them. If you have a welder you can fix about anything on it that you break.
