So I went ahead and bought it. They discounted it $200 for getting TSC credit with 0% interest. It’s the only place within 90 miles of me that sells this stuff. I’m just gonna be easy on it until I see what it’s made of. The soils I’m working are pretty loamy with an occasional surprise rock. I’m doing a bunch tomorrow. I’ll update my findings.

Good. Boxblades are easily repairable and easy to add weight if necessary. You made a good purchase

Typically the US made, superior quality part is at LEAST 50% more, if not outright 2x. In this case, the EA 72" box blade is a few hundred dollars more ($200 more list, but there is shipping if you're not within 1000miles of them).

IMHO here is one case it would be VERY hard to justify the chinese import - the EA stuff is really well made, better steel, stateside work. YMMV.

Availability is often a consideration.

Keep us updated on how it works out. I've been planning to build one for several years... it hasn't happened yet so last week I went to their website to order a 5 foot model. They've almost doubled in price since I last looked at them. If you have a welder you can fix about anything on it that you break.

About 3 (?) years ago now... While on sale I bought a 5' China made box blade from our local Canada wide farm auto store... It is within 10 kilo of most of the cheaper other name options.. For what it is made to do, it does all I need it to do well... And it was way under half the $1100 price of the 5' box blades shown in the add..

My 5 cents of experience and opinion..

This TSC box blade is only rated 32hp and my LS is 42hp. Would I just destroy it or could I just slice slower? Never used a box blade before.

If you start searching for Countyline implements you'll find references to them being made for TSC by Tartar in Kentucky, USA. There's even a couple pictures of Tartar logos peeling off and it says Countyline underneath. So, take it with a grain of salt, but it doesn't appear it's Chinese made.

I can’t even imaging what a slab of 1/4 or 3/8 steel is going for these days.
