You mean I have to "try," I haven't actually been living here?Try living in the PNW where there are so many many projects demanding every cement truck AND the cement workers are on strike.
Hot money flows. I'm buying

Ah, but as the standard prospectus goes: "past success does not guaranteed future performance." I can't say I have any beef with Amazon (there's plenty of stuff that needs an axe-grinding- I just see Amazon as a symptom), but I don't see them having a 60-year run (USD is on the verge of collapsing [when that happens pretty much all is going the heck in a handbasket; but, who knows, perhaps Amazon will be appropriated by society to become a big co-op...]).All those stores that have been mentioned lasted more than a lifetime. So maybe Amazon has another 60+/- years before it goes defunct too? It’s probably a little premature to worry about what happens to the building after it closes.
People have been saying that the US dollar is in imminent collapse since the 1930s.Ah, but as the standard prospectus goes: "past success does not guaranteed future performance." And? If you want to do into the details, which I'm doubtful you are, I'd be happy to explain.People have been saying that the US dollar is in imminent collapse since the 1930s.
I think you are probably right; only a matter of time till the house of cards falls. The American working class people have been lied to, cheated, and stolen from for decades at a minimum; just run the numbers on wealth in this country vs the bottom 90%.Ah, but as the standard prospectus goes: "past success does not guaranteed future performance." It's not that it's hard to find concrete, it's just that you couldn't HAVE it!Our new Amazon Fullfillment center here in Waco, TX opened this fall and is now fully operational, with 320 new jobs distributed over three work shifts. Looks like Amazon offered $15/hr wages and got only a few takers. So right now average starting salary is about $22.50 per hour and lots of overtime. Everyone got full benefits and $3000 hiring bonuses.
Between the Amazon fulfillment construction, the hundreds of new home construction going up for SpaceX employees and a major rebuild of I-35, concrete was absolutely hard to find the past year.
With concrete at $150 bucks a yard, Amazon can have it...It's not that it's hard to find concrete, it's just that you couldn't HAVE it!I'd previously mentioned that I'll probably drop the notion of building a new house. THAT will relieve me of the distress over not being able to HAVE concrete
Reminds me I need to check how a new build is going for a friend of mine (that'll amp up the stress a bit- I care about how it's affecting others).
Yes. I don't think it's meaningful to attack others on any of this. It's The System. I'd like to think that history won't repeat itself vis a vis bloodshed. I don't advocate for any system, just that people are allowed actual free and open discussion on everything- and do so honestly (to the best possible).I think you are probably right; only a matter of time till the house of cards falls. I'll check it out... And I agree for the most part; even when it comes to mankind as a whole...Yes. I don't think it's meaningful to attack others on any of this. It's The System. I no more look to glorify say Elon Musk, or Jeff Bezos, than I do Hollywood stars.
ALL fiat currencies fail. FACT. ALL empires collapse. FACT. Another FACT is that ideology, religion, type of leader etc. has absolutely little to do with why an empire collapses- NONE can keep the collapse from happening. Excellent read on the collapse of empires is Sir John Glubb's Fate Of Empires (can fetch it off the Internet- not a long read, but well worth it).
