Amazon taking their time

So, I ordered a Chinese string trimmer on Amazon July 31st. I'm not a Prime member and I usually go for free shipping when not in a hurry. My wife is having probably 30 people over this Saturday and at least a dozen will be camping at our place. My string trimmer died which is why I ordered a new one. I've been waiting on pins and needles waiting for that d*mned string trimmer. I have a LOT of trimming to do before Saturday, my fire pit looks like a jungle. Tracking shows that it will show up by 8pm tonight Friday, a full 10 days since I ordered it and it's shipping FROM Amazon. That's the longest I've ever waited for an item shipped directly from them. It's shipping to my work so that blew my plan of taking a couple days off to prepare for the party. Next time I will be paying for shipping if I need the item quicker than 10 days.

Time to dump a gallon of septic treatment in for the party. (my only other concern) lol

That's odd {in my experience}.. you def. have to look at where its shipping FROM when ordering..
I ordered 2 spindle bearings off amazon last week.. shipping said between Tuesday & Thursday for delivery..
I got them on the Saturday BEFORE.!!! I have ALWAYS gotten my package ATLEAST 1 day BEFORE the scheduled delivery date..
Just like my business.. UNDER promise & OVER deliver.. {I like it}..

It's 50/50 with amazon..usually it's other vendors are quicker, but not always.

I ordered July 20 and it was in -stock...it arrived to me august 6.

the other annoyance is when they ship fed ex to the post office then they deliver it..adds a day, sometimes 2. WTH?

I order a lot from Amazon;most deliveries in two days with Prime;but one order ended up coming from China
(unknown to me) that took two+ weeks.Glad I was not in a hurry.Came via "China Post".

It seems to me that Amazon will hold your order for a week before filling it if you're not a prime member. An order filled by a 3rd party usually arrives before Amazon says they're working on filling it.
