And how must the shotguns be loaded? Across the border in Arkansas, they specify buckshot, over here in Missouri, no buckshot, only slugs. Go figure.:confused3:

buck or slug.

buck or slug.

I have never understood the prohibition on buckshot here. It is pretty effective, or so I am told. I have killed deer with a 12 gauge slug, but I haven't ever killed any with buckshot. Of course that is what my defensive shotguns are loaded with. I really hope to never find out how effective 00 is.

I think the law I linked to said rifles had the magazine restrictions. Didn't see anything about handguns.

there are revolver long guns too. ;)

Circuit judge. I have one, and it 'calls in' like a long gun.

It made me curious, because it comes with a multi piece orange cyl plug. My guess is the cyl pug pieces either let you limit the cyl to 5 rounds for long gun hunting, or 3 rounds for shotgun/waterfowl, since this will chamber 45lc, and 410 shotgun.

antiquated rules.. might as well specify matchlock only...

Actually, shotgun restrictions are generally for urban areas since a slug wont carry as far as a high power rifle bullet. Same rule here in GA in the counties near Atlanta due to population density.

Understood, but why no buckshot here in Missouri? Slug only. What is the thinking behind that rule.?

I think a lot of it has to do with population densities and the fear of high powered rifle bullets traveling great distances VS shotgun slugs/buckshot.

Because too many people took too many shots at too far of a distance and crippled too many deer, with buckshot. That's a lot of "too's", but that's most likely the reason.

Again, backwards rules. Here in Florida they just tell you dont shoot toward people. Management area maps show hunting areas and shooting lanes and whatnot.

Same with those places with bs caliber restrictions. No real purpose, just hoops to jump thru.

Again, bad hunter management. Just need better educated hunters .

Or send the out with sharp sticks...
