A Forster (Foster) slug won't damage a screw-in choke, but the Brenneke slug is a little less flexible. The Forster slug is the most popular.
Sabot slugs should never be used in a choked barrel, though there are rifled screw-in cylinder chokes available that will do a moderate job of stabilizing a sabot. Rifled chokes will foul pretty quickly shooting smooth bore slugs.

Now I'm up to speed, that was a good demonstration on slugs going through different size chokes, just shows me that the popular choice here was right one, I.C. choke and that's what I'll look for. So far the gen. price is around $25.00 for the Mossberg brand, but I'm giving the S.S. Carlson brand a look see, it's a little cheaper with good reviews.

For some reason banging a steel plate doesn't have the same ring as punching holes through 1-1/2" counter top, good shot tho. I liked what Hickok45 said, when something like that is thrown away it always goes by the range first, same here at my range.
When I get slugs for my 20 ga. I'll setup a 2" thick plank at 400 yards and put some holes through it, on video of coarse. :thumbsup:

We are waiting on the video... Man if you can do it more power to you. 75 to 100 yards is all I have ever shot them.. BUT I was pleasantly surprised how well I could hit at that distance. We can rarely see a deer much further around here in the brush anyway. But if you don't have a fancy rifle, and the ranges are not too long, you CAN put meat on the table with a scattergun if you try. I seriously doubt I would shoot at a game animal with a foster slug much over 100 yards, but I believe they are a good choice for close range deer getting.

Brush here is much the same way. My 30-06 is sighted to 100

My new 20 ga choke tube wrench
Estimated hours of job completion was 8 hours, but was completed in 3 hours under budget and ahead of schedule. The wrench was made out of old reciprocating saw. I started at the end of the blade that goes into the saw and started grinding from there. A little bit of grinding on both sides and then when done, welded a chain like handle on the end. Another one of my ingenious designs. The moral of the story is I saved $10.
