Amsoil 100:1

I have a 1 gallon "mixed gas" can and TRY to use it within a few weeks of mixing. I don't get *as worried* about it if I find Ethanol-free gasoline but get downright paranoid if I know I am mixing with ethanol-blended gas.

It is my belief that the Ethanol blended gas reacts differently with 2-cycle oils than straight gas does and I would not advise going leaner on the oil than 50:1 with blended gasolines because the ethanol already leans the air:fuel mixture some causing the engine to run hotter than with straight gas.

I've run Amsoil Saber at 80:1 w/ 89 gas in all my 2-stroke stuff for the past two years. It's great stuff.

Been using the 100-1 for years now, chain saw, weed eater, etc. You can use it in a marine application, but Amsoil makes a marine oil that is formulated for the cooler running temps in a water cooled engine. You can run the heavier mix if you are more comfortable, but 100-1 will work just fine for a long time.

Used it in a racing kart many years ago at the insistance of a friend at the 100 to 1 ratio and seized the engine a few times, so I don't have the same favorable opinion, or experience, as the others here. I wouldn't use Amsoil after that episode.:(

I was at a buddies shop years ago when the sales rep came in to set up a display. After a discussion, I had free samples to use. He told me that they warranty what it runs in. I was VERY afraid of 100:1. I ran it 50:1 in a water cooled woods bike and it siezed the motor with some hard running. Needless to say, the warranty disappeared. I shelled out the cash to repair my bike and never ran that garbage again. Funny how the sales rep never wanted to talk to me again.

Funny I have been using Amsoil 100 to 1 ratio (AMSOIL Saber) in all my 2-stroke equipment for years....no issues.

Granted it is only several shindaiwa 630 leaf blowers (backpack), 3 Echo 2XXX trimmers and Husqvarna 460 rancher...Not millions in $$$ but more then a go cart...If the go cart person had issue Amsoil would pay for it (if used correctly)...

In fact many people in lawn care biz love it...

I doubt if you leaf blowers cost more than a yamaha ra cing cart which turns 18,000 rpm's. If you think Amsoil would pay for the cart repair you are extremely naive. When you run into a poor product like Amsoil, you just move on.

Sounds like you have something against amsoil..While I don't have a racing gocart. my back pack blower, trimmers, chain saws, (forgot to mention) are commerical grade & weren't cheep

My Husqvarna chainsaw is a commercial grade saw and is 25 years old. All it has ever had in it is Amsoil mixed carefully at 100:1. I don't run it so much now as I used to but it cut enough wood to heat the house and shop for a number of years.

I have alway wondered when people have problems with a product that they think caused a failure, do they really know what caused the failure? I don't know the answer, but I wonder if you really know if it caused the failure or not.
