So I got recently 2 pails of amsoil hydraulic fluid.

Got it in iso32 because I use my tractor in the winter too and it gets pretty cold up here. Paid $500 for the 2 pails, but now starting to have doubts is this stuff is the right stuff.
It's for a dk4210se.
I blew a hose on the backhoe and had to top it up couple of times with random hydraulic oil whatever I could find.
This time I figured replace it all, the entire system, and put in some good stuff.
But now I'm not 100% sure if this will work for my purpose.
I remember reading somewhere that it may lack necessary cleaning additives etc. Anyone use/used this stuff before?

Second question, if it does lack the additives, can consumers buy that stuff and add it ourselves?

Coming up to 400hrs.

That's Hydraulic oil, not Universal Tractor Transmission Fluid (UTTO) that your tractor calls for.

Hydraulic oil doesn't have the additives and friction modifiers necessary for the PTO wet clutch and wet brakes that your tractor has.

500 bucks for 10 gallons is stupid high in cost. Thats substantialyl more than even Kubota SUDT which is pretty expensive and I bet way more than the OEM Kioti fluid you should be using.

As an aside, I use both my Kubota's in the winter up here in Michigan and for years now. I've used Chevron All Weather THC Synthetic hudraulic fluid ever since the initial change which was over 4000 hours ago. Each of mine require 15 gallons plus filters on a change and I change them every 2 years, hours irregardless.

You need to take an oil sample of your existing fluid and have it analyised by a reputable lab like Blackstone and actually see if what you have in there is good, or the additive package is depleted.

500 bucks ror 10 gallons seems way over the top to me.

Just my opinion, nothing more but I wouldn't be dropping that much jack on 10 gallons of fluid in the first place.

That's definitely the wrong fluid for use in your tractor. Amsoil does make a Universal Tractor Fluid, but it is equally expensive.
I use Amsoil greases and engine oils, but I just can't stomach the price of their UTF.

FYI, Chevron All Weather THF Synthetic can be hard to find, but I found out by accident that NAPA carries it and I just purchased 4 5 gallon pails last week and they were running a special on it. Got it for 125 bucks a pail.

I don't use Amsoil anything actually, never have. One nice thing about the Chevron is, it comes dyed orange so it's easy to see versus clear fluid on a dipstick or in a sight glass.

I use the same fluid. Rated to -58F. Been using it for 2 years, year 'round, zero problems. $210 per 5 gal bucket is current price, with "member" discount, can order it direct from amsoil website and it's still free shipping when you order $100 or more. Signing up for a "membership" is $20/year, gives you a $70 discount per bucket and the free shipping. Was cheaper direct than buying it from the local Napa store, even before having to pay the sales tax in the store. Plus UPS drops the shipment right in my driveway.

I'm also using their "max duty" synthetic diesel engine oil, and their synthetic "severe duty" gear oil. Again, been running it 2 years now, zero problems. I buy my filters from Asteral, except I do buy the dual air filter elements from Napa.
