angle gear drive

Does anyone know where I can buy an angle gear drive that is 1 to 3 ratio. Most I have seen are 1 to 1. I bought a flail mower and need the added speed for a nice clean cut. This should be able to adapt to a tractor pto. Thanks jr

But, wish you good luck. Don't think I would expect a better cut just by increasing the rpm 3 fold, although it would chop up the material into finer pieces, and may throw things a bit further. Might even make juice out of the grass. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

By using a 1 to 1 box and belt gearing for a final 2 to 1 ratio it turns slower than the orig setup. In tall grass ( 6 inches or more ) it tears rather than cut the weeds / grass cleanly. It had a 3 to 1 aluminum case box that went bad after the oil was not checked in several seasons of operation. @ 550 pto speed 3 to 1 only equates to 1650 rpm..... which is not super high. I have checked several vendors with no luck. I may have to slip some type of transmission in the drive line.
