Annoying low hanging tree limbs

Also, if you cut right after a rain, the water weight on the leaves & branches brings the branches down to you, & once dry they spring back up even higher away from you.

And if another storm comes, you are a 20' lightning rod...

The only thing that ticks me off more than those low hanging tree branches is having my Husquvarna chain saw take 35 pulls before it starts. Hate the dang thing. Wish I had bought a Stihl.

We bought a Huskey...took it back the next day and got a Stihl...

I checked the prices of these pole saws and I'd love to afford one just can't at this point.

I think I will rent one for a day and take care of the low hanging branches I have around.

My local Home Depot has an Echo model for $180.

I opted for Stihl's HT101, which is great, but also ~$600.

I just throw a set of loppers in the gun rack on the Polaris and drive the edges lopping off anything that wants to knock my hat and glasses off.

Take a look at stihls kombi system.

Any idea what the Kombi system costs?

I bought the attachment to make my weed eater into a pole saw. I think it was about $95. While it is not as heavy duty as a purpose built saw it works well. I have cut limbs up to 8" in diameter. I have my wife drive the pickup and I stand in the back to extend my reach further. Make sure the truck is not under the limb!

I need one of these pole saw things. What do they run?

Husky or Stihl or any other saw you do have to maintain. If it is taking that many pulls you need to service it. I run both brands and if it were taking more than about 5 pulls I find out the problem instead of cussing at it.

Ageed +1

I've had many brands of saws over the years. And as long as they've been maintained, they start easily. Some exceptions being old saws from back in the 50's & 60's that I've had.
I have an old Husky 51 that I bought new back in early 90's that has seldom taken more than 2 pulls to start, even first start of the season.

I generally ride the property on the 4 wheeler w/ the chainsaw. Stop, stand, and saw. From the 4 wheeler I can either lop or saw high enough so the limbs don't hit the rops.

Guys this saw has been like this from the get go. Any suggestions on what you propose I do to it to service it? It's barely been used. I should point out that I've not had anything like this from the Stihl weed whacker I have. Always starts within 4 pulls.

My 242 Husky was like that for a while. I richened the slow speed screw slightly, then increased the idle screw to compensate for the richer mixture, and it works and starts better now. Husky are notoriously cold-blooded to begin with.

The limbhog looks nice but their video is kind of funny. It makes a big deal about the fact that there are no emissions because there is no motor, just the tractor's hydraulics. Looks at my tractor - 60 HP, then looks at my 91 cc large chainsaw - hmmmmm, no emissions?

There is a good shooting site on You tube called Hickok 45. He has over 400 shooting videos on various guns. He shoots the limbs off with a shotgun. Looks like it works pretty good. (cheaper than a pole saw too )

I generally use a loper....but some of those higher ones need shooting. :D

That's funny foggy. My friends all laugh at me for trimming shooting lanes for dove with #8 shot. Works

Yes, I agree, I think they should work on their marketing a bit. I have had a bit of trouble keeping the chain tight on mine. Does not have the conventional chain tightening system. Not that adjustment is a big issue, but getting in and out of the skid steer is more difficult for me with the bar down in adjustment position. Overall I have been very satisfied even with the $2000 price tag. I have found with the "golden years", I have to spend a bit more on tools to stay in the game. I believe someone with good fabrication skills and the inclination to save some coin could fabricate a copy very easily. Big expense being the hydraulic motor/bar portion.
