Another ASV failure

Now that is an understatement if there is one.
My local dealer don't know nothing about them, neither does their mechanic.

Hahaha. I was talking about the company. Don't get me started on my local dealer.

That's great ASV helped you, however I can honestly say I would get rid of it. My ASV is a 2007 PT-100 with 700 hours on it. It is on it's second motor (ASV did cover), second set of axles (ASV Covered), second charge pump (ASV did not cover), second Auxialiary pump (ASV did not cover), and now I am told it needs a new tandom pump and possibly drive motors (ASV not willing to cover). I just spent over $5k last month on it not to mention the lost revenue from it being in the shop for repairs. I believe most the hydraulic issues came from how my dealer serviced the machine when the first pump went out. Neither hear nor there at this point, but I can tell you I am going to take a loss on it before it is sitting in the woods worthless again and I have to put a few more grand in it.

What did you use it for??
mulcher or???

Having that much hydr trouble is unreal at only 700 hrs:confused2:

I agree. All of these issues are to early for the hours, that's why the machine is going to be sold. The machine is mostly used for dirt work (60-70%), however we are a mulching company and due use it for mulching. I would say about 300 hours at the most is mulching. We bought it because it can mulch, but mostly due to its size and strength for moving logs and running a root grapple behind our big mulchers. As far as the condition and how it is kept up. My dealer repeatedly asks how we keep our machines so clean and in good shape. We are very particular with all of our equipment.

Looks like safety wiring the bolts would be a better repair. That's how critical fasteners are secured in aviation.

Here's a link with some applications of safety wire with pictures.

SUBJECT: Motor mount bolt locking tab

DATE: April 26, 2010

LABOR: Approximately 1 hour
HOURS

ISSUE:

High vibration attachments, including but not limited to mulching head brushcutters, require additional service and regular maintenance as outlined in the owner痴 manual. This vibration can cause bolt loosening, hose loosening, cracks, and other items if left unattended.

ACTION:

Follow all maintenance instructions per the operator's manual, especially regarding bolt checks, hose checks, oil level checks, and addressing any leaks. For added security, Terex has made available for purchase, an additional bolt locking tab (item 3) to further secure the motor mount bolts (item 5) to the engine. These tabs can be added to any of the above machines. The tabs should be installed, farthest away from the fan as shown below (1 tab on each side of the engine). Bolts must be coated with Loctite 545 thread sealant prior to installation. After bolt installation the ends of the tabs can be bent firmly against the bolt. Terex recommends returning the machine to your authorized dealer for installation and following all safety guidelines as outlined in the owner's and service manuals.

Parts: P/N 2040-171 -- Tab locking engine mount (Quantity 2)
P/N 0201-859 -- Engine oil filter (Quantity 1)

This is not a campaign bulletin and warranty claims will only be
