18mm wrench saved a potential engine replacement.
Tightening those bolts isnt a permanent save: If it was my machine, i'd take those bolts out one by one, use brake cleaner or some other solvent to degrease it, and put them back in after smearing them with Loc-Tite... Thats a permanent fix: Those threads are continously lubed, and most fastening threads arent 100% tight either.

If you ever need to get them out again, Loc-Tite is boiled out fairly easy with a small torch.

Thats not a permanent fix asv tried every kind of loctite you can get and nothing works you need the new clips that fold back over the bolts after you get them tight . You can get them from asv

Does this bolt go through the steel frame of the skid? If so I'm sure I will just end up tightening then tack welding the bolt. It will be a couple more days before I can actually go take a look at mine but I certainly will after reading this thread.

Ah, you mean the old fashioned way, with a thin strip of metal with two bolt holes: You bend the edge of the metal strip against edges of the two bolts.

My tractors diff cage is secured that way.

Did anyone try Nord-Lock washers ? they are the best, we use them to bolt the axles under our wheel loaders.

SUBJECT: Motor mount bolt locking tab

DATE: April 26, 2010

LABOR: Approximately 1 hour
HOURS

ISSUE:

High vibration attachments, including but not limited to mulching head brushcutters, require additional service and regular maintenance as outlined in the owner痴 manual. This vibration can cause bolt loosening, hose loosening, cracks, and other items if left unattended.

ACTION:

Follow all maintenance instructions per the operator's manual, especially regarding bolt checks, hose checks, oil level checks, and addressing any leaks. For added security, Terex has made available for purchase, an additional bolt locking tab (item 3) to further secure the motor mount bolts (item 5) to the engine. These tabs can be added to any of the above machines. The tabs should be installed, farthest away from the fan as shown below (1 tab on each side of the engine). Bolts must be coated with Loctite 545 thread sealant prior to installation. After bolt installation the ends of the tabs can be bent firmly against the bolt. Terex recommends returning the machine to your authorized dealer for installation and following all safety guidelines as outlined in the owner's and service manuals.

Parts: P/N 2040-171 -- Tab locking engine mount (Quantity 2)
P/N 0201-859 -- Engine oil filter (Quantity 1)

This is not a campaign bulletin and warranty claims will only be

I sold Bobcat's for over 8 years, own both an ASV and a Bobcat, and visit many equipment forums. I have never seen another OEM post ANY service bulletin/notice, not CAT, Bobcat, Deere, Kubota, etc. None, nada, zilch. And you come on here and bash ASV for being called out.

Do you think they're the only OEM that has failures on their machines or the only OEM who hasn't stepped up to the plate. I could tell you about dozens of "issues" that Bobcat had over the years in which they never said anything about them even though those of us "in the field" knew it was a problem. I don't own an ASV RC100 or PT100, but I at least have to give them some credit for their Service Manager posting on here and identifying himself and then posting a service notice. Good luck to whoever has had this problem with their motor mounts.
