Looks like some kind of cheap cast steel instead of the forged ones like on my buckets! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

(Just joking...I'll probably lose half of mine next time I put the hoe on... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif )

I didn't know that your backhoe had that design. You shouldn't have had any problem with them breaking the way they did. I would venture a guess that there was a manufacturing defect. The ones that I was referring to was weld on shanks without a secondary lip to reinforce the shank with pin on teeth.

Well Henro, when I saw how the inner steel looked I thought cheap casts also. Boy I hate to use Kubota and cheap in the same sentence.
I guess I'll have to put my brief stint as a logger on hold until I can find some better teeth for the hoe.
I bougth my local dealers last one in stock, but I ordered a few from Tractorsmart. I'll be set for at least another week!

ok,ok ! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif I stand before you a humble man . It does look like a design or manufacturing flaw to me too . /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif I think Kubota should stand behind them on warranty .

Ramon49,

Poor quality? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I know you have been a solo whining voice with respect to poor power on the l3130... /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Are you changing your tune now? /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I know this is a tired subject but what do you guys think of this ? Compare the tooth placement on the center tooth and the outer ones. There is quite a gap between tooth and bucket edge.
I suppose a guy could drill new holes and get a better fit, and maybe less strain on the outer teeth.

Plants4u,

Keep in mind that it is the nature of the beast that when the tooth on the outside is angled, there will be a space on the inside like shown in your photo.

I don't have a photo handy showing what it is like on my buckets. I would not be surprised if it was similar to the photo you posted. I will try to remember to take a look and even take a photo of what mine are like.

But I would not expect them to be too different from your photo. Only because a fit that is tight when not angled, will open on one side when angled...

Just a thought, not to any one person. The angle of the outside teeth seem to be to much. If it was reduced the same goal would be achieved without as much side load on the teeth.
