The worst part about a PT for snow removal is the open cab....looks like those folks did a nice job of taking care of that issue though. Looks like a 1430 from the pictures. Careful use and fine tuning of the Draft control helps a lot to maintain front wheel traction under snow/ice conditions.

I also use 2-link ladder chains on the front & 4-link on the rear, but diamond pattern would be better.

I plow from the comfort of my 4X4 PU, but use my PT with blower for the drifts and such. I have a flexible plastic windshield which helps some if I am lucky with the wind. Am usually pretty frosty by the time I am done no matter what.

Boy, it looks too small to be a 1400 series, I think 400 painted red... Something older as the front linkage reminds me of JJ's machine.

Rip,

Does your PT blower work well. Curious whether you have enough pto horsepower. How about the wet stuff.

The plow hookup is very similar to the original setup I had on my 180.

Plowing in an open tractor does not bother me at all. (Snow blowing would be another matter.) I find the glare off the glass very annoying and a little dangerous. I even removed the glass window from one tractor i bought that came with a glass front window. I just dress warm and usually wear some form of face mask. A deep hood helps keep the snow out of your eyes if it is really blowing hard.

I sent the guy that owns it an email, and asked what model he had. It does have the three point hook up like mine. Here is what my 1445 looks like..

The aspect ratio of the engine cover is not the same as the 400 series. Of course its an early PT so who knows.
