Re: Another Ahole Neighbor Question

......... We live out in the county and a group of idiots bought the adjacent 130 acres to establish a live action role play park where they run around playing dungeons and dragons. We are building a nuisance case against them but it takes time and a lot of documentation.

If that doesn't work, try joining them! Dungeons and dragons, eh? Sounds like a trebuchet would fit right in! (Check out this video.) Chuck a car at em and see if that doesn't discourage them. If it doesn't, try the same "ammo" as the guys in the video used after they chucked the car. :D

Re: Another Ahole Neighbor Question

"Nuisance is one of the oldest causes of action known to the common law, with cases framed in nuisance going back almost to the beginning of recorded case law. Nuisance signifies that the "right of quiet enjoyment" is being disrupted to such a degree that a tort is being committed."

This or trespassing is your only legal recourse. We live out in the county and a group of idiots bought the adjacent 130 acres to establish a live action role play park where they run around playing dungeons and dragons. We are building a nuisance case against them but it takes time and a lot of documentation.

Oh god I read this can could picture a bunch of fruits dancing around in the wood roll playing. Spit my coke on the screen

Re: Another Ahole Neighbor Question

I know a couple of "Larpers" (live action role players). I think if I were to have any near my property I would much rather have the SCA crew. Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc. while there are battles, there are also many other skills that they promote (Atlantian A&S Links: Main). Back storys on the people are also more researched. The two that I know were in the first http pennisc "wars" PENNSIC WAR 41 One went to just battle the other went to battle and also blacksmith. He only does blacksmithing now and being part of the sca allows him to have a huge group to sell his armor and swords. These battles are in armor and bamboo swords are used. Full out battles hit has hard as you can. (he made his first set of armor from a blue barrel and said it worked great protected him well). No I have never played or been a member :) To me SCA is more renissance fair type.

If the group runs more of the Dagorhir Battle Games, where Tolkien's Middle Earth meets Dark Age Europe! dagorhir side then its mostly fantasy type fighting with foam weapons and "magic". Hehe my friends in the SCA call this group the nerds (but really isnt that the kettle doing some talking there?)

A husband and wife opened a Mead store in our town about a year ago. They were making it for Renaissance Fairs, maybe SCA as well, and were winning awards so they opened the shop. They look to be very successful. They do have some good stuff and I am very jealous of his brewing setup. :D

When they opened the store they had a group of Renaissance singers as well as sword play on the lawn. The women serving samples were correctly dress serving wenches. :D I really wonder how that went down with the oh so PC crowd in my county. I liked the low cut dresses though.:laughing::laughing::laughing:

I think the TBNer with the Roll Playing Problem should get a couple of companies of Yankee and Johnny Reb soldiers to have some skirmishes in the woods to reenact the battle of the Wilderness! They need to schedule the reenactment of the Wilderness to match up with the weekend of the wizarding wars. I think I would pay to see all of that going on at one time! :D Bring along some mead and it would be a blast!

Later,
Dan
