The Internet is a wonderful thing!
I have succeeded in convincing (somewhat) my better half that WE need a tractor
. We live on a hill and I am not getting any younger (63). We live in Central MA (The People's Republic of Massachusetts) and heat with wood, I am a displaced Mainer - Ahya. Each year, I haul 2+ chords up to the house which is about a 15' rise. I am also an engineer and I once had the thought to calculate the amount of work that it took but I didn't want to scare myself.
Why am I here? To tap into the tremendous amount of resources (you) to find the best machine - new or used - for the money (I am also very frugal) that will serve my needs. We have a lot that is about 2 acres, very rockie and is on the side of a hill. I think most of the rocks had been rolled down from the top to create usable farm land, which left my little spot very bony, almost unusable. I want to clear enough of these small bolders away in order to be able to have some usable back yard. I also would use it to clear snow in the winter besides the wood thing. This area gets more snow than anywhere I have lived in Maine!
Anyway, I am looking forward to the virtual experience and thanks for any experienced advice that I may receive to my inexperienced questions.
