Tractor
Kioti DK45
I think I have gotten myself confused and would really appreciate all the input you expierenced folks have with tractors. First I was looking at the Kama to save $$ /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif of course then after reading all of the discussions I am leaning to spending more $$ and am looking at the Kioti. Having never owned and now purchasing 24 acres to farm and raise animals as well as build a home and clear trees and put up fencing...enough already.... How about the LK3054XS or would I be better with the DK45. One last item how well do they hold up.

Thanks all and sorry for the book

Jim

I don't know the LK at all, but I did look at the DK45 - nice tractor, and built like a tank. I think you'd get more info if you searched the Kioti owners forum on DK45. Good Luck with your land, and your tractor purchase.

I can answer that question better 10 years from now /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
I have a DK 35 with just over 400 hours, and so far it has been excellant !!

Since you don't say what amount of the 24 acres will be worked, I'd have to recommend you get the DK45 so you can pull larger implements and get the work done faster.
Now the LK3054XS is a good, strong tractor, but it isn't the DK45 in size or power (obviously).
As for how they hold up, I can tell you about a 3054 from around 1990 that came into my dealer's for repairs. The owner, a contractor, stated he had not changed the oil at all, just added oil when needed! The hour meter had 1000 hours showing, but the owner stated it had stopped years before and he knew there were thousands more hours.
The oil level when checked, showed only a small amount of of dark, dirty oil, but the engine STILL ran. After some cleaning and changing fluids, adjusting the valves and a few other minor things, the tractor was running great. This sure told me how dependable the Kioti can be.
I think you'd do well to get the DK45 and all the extras that offers such as synchronized shuttle, the deluxe 3pt hitch, etc. John
