That seems to be common with all imports ----They do not understand those "greedy" American's. They want us to build something and guarantee it not to break or fail---what are they thinking!!!! We need equipment made in America where our laws apply and you get what you pay for!!! Well everything but lawyers!!!:)

You may need to think about trading it on a stronger tractor if your wanting to make money with it in a non orchard enviroment . This morning after i pushed this huge tree over with my "real" 100hp tractor (front wheels 2' off the ground) i cleaned up all the lantana on the rock ledges with the rake and piled it on the tree . Sometimes because you can't see through this stuff i get hung up on boulders and logs , not once have i been worried about the thing breaking in half . Then i mulched all the flat land Lantana and made 2.2K for the day . I trust this tractor for my income and with my life daily .

Hope that country you are in is U.N. recognized Iron Horse.
What brand of good machine is that you pictured...? Is the loader of the same brand or after market, if so it is approved by the tractor brand?
It seems radio controlled which is handy when opening a beer or reeling in a fish or two. When you say that " two wheels off the ground" or "get hung up on a boulders and logs" just proves the technical/engineering point that Rigid Frame Tractors can take that work; as apposed to Oscillating Frames like A.Carraro TRX.
Which mulcher brand and type of tines does it have please? Y tines or hammer?

Hello Vjeko,
What a beautiful country you are from with most tractor charming drivers. The little trigone is perfect for your vineyard. Will you get a small flail mower/mulcher for the vine prunings, so this will go back into the soil as soil food or top mulch?
Some important questions. The machine is articulated but not oscillated?
The gear casings are pressed steel plate or cast steel?

May Christmas be an awaking for the world.

Hey everyone, Just an update...

I finally received the denial of claim from my insurance company. It was no surprise either... they totaled my tractor as well.

The insurance company came to the same conclusions during its own investigation.... They sent not one but two claim adjusters, and the opinion written was taken under the advisement from two different cast iron/machining specialists that have been in the business for about 40 years....

No surprises in what they said either since they work with heavy machinery...

I know folks from Antonio Carraro have been following my tractor issue (From Italian Corporate down to former Reps and Dealers)....

One rep tried to help me and get corporate to do what was right and had a deal to cover it under warranty or something like that, but she was either shut up, or lost any standing in the company to make any deals when she left for a different job... We couldn't connect in the limited time of about a week and withdrew any communication to me or any of the forums she was involved in....

Not surprising, the person that would have been involved in resolving the issue at AC America completely denied that any such conversation with the Rep took place about my tractor....

I genuinely believed in the tractor community and service that AC portrayed. I received their Tractor People magazine and read all of the stories from around the world. I couldn't think of a better company to invest $50,000 in a new tractor...

I just didn't expect to get ignored, strong armed and lied to when it broke in half, just out of warranty and still owing $20,000.... And back to using my 15+ year old Pasquali that I have worked harder under the SAME conditions....

I don't appreciate being made to feel like I am the bad guy in this situation by the very people that I was hoping would be supportive...

While I am awaiting receipt of the Insurance Companies findings, I am also talking with other people (that supposedly don't exist) about their tractor problems....

I am just hoping Antonio Carraro will reconsider its position and contact me (and the others) about resolving this issue...

Especially in light that AC just introduced their 4th? generation of center section housings AND introduced a 4 YEAR ACROSS THE BOARD WARRANTY ON ALL OF THEIR TRACTORS!!!

So does that mean that there was infact a fault in the casting/casting too thin/bad design or all of the above ?

I am allowing some time for the dust to settle before I start posting the findings of fact from the insurance company and the denial of claim letter that was sent to me..... I am (and the rest of the injured parties are) waiting to hear from Antonio Carraro first....

Hey All,

RangerDave I am really sorry to hear of this! I have been looking hard at AC as I really like the design myself. The purposes I had in mind were forage and forestry plus the odd blading of snow, gravel - stuff like that. What I liked was low center of gravity, articulation and reversibility plus 4 wheel drive and enough power. Probably the same thinking as you.

I'm not an engineer but I have been studying on this. If I comprehend what happened correctly you have a front end loader (assuming the engine end is the front) and you put the bucket on the ground and lifted the front axle of the tractor off the ground to put jackstands under it. Upon lifting the front end the casing broke. Right? I assume the main loader attachment is behind where the casing broke - correct? This means that any of the following may be the case: 1) the front of the tractor was simply not designed to be suspended, 2) the metal in the casing was bad, 3) the design is bad as it is reasonable that the tractor easily be able to support it self suspended, 4) the strain distributed through the loader attachment point was too much 5) or maybe you just got a Monday/Friday tractor.

In reading all the posts in this thread I'm gathering that AC's position is the tractor isn't designed to have the strength to have the front suspended or maybe the front should be suspendable but the distribution of force through the loader attachment is a problem. It is implied in the warranty voiding if you use the loader to lift the tractor as well as in the description of the tractor as a "steep ground handling puller". I also noted that the picture posted by the "rep" trying to help you had a rear mounted loader.

I'm wondering if a front end loader is just a bad idea for this tractor.

My favorite tractor of all time is the Versatile 276 which started as the Versatile 150 became the 256/276 then the Ford 9030 and now the NH TV140. It has the loader on the rear. I've never seen one with a front loader. I wonder if there is a good reason for this?

If a front end loader is a bad idea I wonder what culpability the loader maker, AC and the dealer have for saying to you yes put a front end loader on er? If the loader's capacity is less than the front end weight of this tractor and is low enough to not stress the frame/casing too much - I guess it works and AC is in the clear. Of course there are engineering differences in the two types of strain. On the other hand... I've no idea about the law in terms of the tractor loader combo being able to perform it's ordinary tasks reasonably - and if lifting the front end with a loader is reasonable making the assumption the frame/casing should by all rights be strong enough to support the weight - but the warranty statement appears to say lifting the front end using the loader is a no no.

Then there is the issue of bolts and all.

Where I want to end up with all of this is simple. If you have no loader on an AC except maybe a rear mounted one - is it a bad tractor? I see lots of people here rushing to put AC on their "krap" list - Is that really justified given all your other experience with it?

I tend to still really believe in the concept of this tractor but am just trying sort all this out.

I really hope you get this sorted out satisfactorily!

-Ed-

PS Just a note I'm no lawyer or anything remotely close just an enquiring mind.
