LOL You guys are a hoot. Ya I love coffee in any form but it is fun messing around with all the exotics. And now the damn roaster and coffee press and fancy new grinder is on the way. My god I'll have to get up a half hour earlier (ugggg) just to roast some fresh beans - grind it - and go a whooping down the holler in the F-350 with it sloshing all over the consel. Thank god the surgeon general hasn't said it was bad or it ain't illegal.

I bet Bird is a coffeehaulic too. How bout ya Bird?

My wife sips coffee from the time she gets out of bed in the morning until she goes to bed at night. I only drink two or three pots full from the time I get up until early afternoon./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif We both drink it straight; no sugar, cream, etc. And we usually buy whichever major brand is on sale at the grocery store. But if I ever find out what Braniff Airlines used 30-35 years ago, that's the one I'll buy. Best tasting, richest coffee I know of.

DrDan, looks like we were typing at the same time. And no way I could wait in the morning to grind, roast, brew, etc. In fact, my wife pours some coffee in a thermos at night, so I get up in the morning, turn on the coffee maker (she put the coffee, filter, and water in it last night) pour a cup from the thermos, put it in the microwave for 60 seconds (while I'm brushing my teeth), and have my first cup of leftover coffee while the first pot of fresh coffee is still brewing./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

..I like regular old coffee, any brand, with too much cream and sugar. ..

Me too... normally 8 o'clock bean coffee, I grind daily and once in a while mix/blend something else for change of pace...

Also has to be "blonde & sweet"... /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Bird, you and your wife sound like me and mine. We never throw brewed coffee out. Depending upon when we make it, some is still left in the pot at the end of the day. Well, as you mentioned, that's what the microwave is for! /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

I don't think it takes me more than about 20 seconds or so to grind the beans to brew a pot.../w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Pete,

My goodness, what a coffee savant you are! I learned more about coffee from your one post than I knew up till now in all my life. I was greatly reassured by your remarks. If I come across it, I will go for the Andes blend you mentioned. Still, I like the Turkish ... drank ut for ten years, and hope to see it back soon.

Your company truly is one of the elite ones to carry through with such idealism to your vendors, and helping every aspect of life on the planet. That's how EVERY company ought to operate, IMO, not just Green Mountain Coffee and Tractorbynet! Thanks much for the informative post.

Here's some of my links for coffee supplies...

Coffee and roaster from: http://www.sweetmarias.com/

French Press from: http://www.bodum.com/products/coffee/classic/classic.htm

These two links will lead you to others. That one company even tells ya when the coffee was imported so ya know it's fresh.

Yes, I too cannot throw out brewed coffee - I like good coffee but don't mind some old stale stuff that's in the pot either. Sniff, sniff, sniff -- I believe I have a fresh pot done out there... Yummmm I using an old 8 cup West Bend percolator right now. Beats the heck out of them stinky drip pots with the filter. Coffee has to stay in contact with the hot water longer than them drip pots allow to get a good flavor. The percolators allow this but scorch it a little -- Come on Coffee Press... I can hardly wait.
