I mesure the ice about 9 inches thick, my JD 4720 with the tracks weight 3 tons + do you think it's safe ??

With the tracks I am sure you're good to go.

You were wright, the people from Soucy int. call me after I did it and told me with the track up to 5 tons on 8 inches.

This is my rule of thumb for driving a truck on the ice, if I see other tracks on the ice, then I will do it, if I have to be the trail blazer, forgetaboutit:laughing:

Make sure it's more than one set of tracks. You get a real funny feeling if you're following one set of tracks and.......pooof...their gone!

Hey, post a pic of your unit on here. Hard to get a close look on your sig.

Got a chance to run a set of Suretrac/fourtracs on a NH TS125, pulling a 9 ft drag. Nice ride. Operated a Gilbert system for a while too. Got to keep those sled trails smooth.

Why do you have the Soucy's? You do a lot of running on the snow?

From the looks of your rig (big footprint with rubber tracks) I'll wager a dollar that the psi it exerts on the ice is less than you in boots.

Where they race locally there is no room to park so they clear the river with a MFWD 3140 with a loader.
