Bummer, sounds like a head gasket to me.

For the fuel shutoff it might be gummed like you said, try removing the rubber boot over the shutoff plunger at the Injection pump and see what it does when you turn the key off. Might have a bad wire or bad solenoid in there.

hard to get to in the yard, feeling the rubber cap it feels like it is moving when the key is turned but with motor running not sure if its moving

I am trying to find the torque spec for a 7T M10x1.25 bolt going into Aluminum with about 7/16 thread engagement

Does anybody have a good number?

tHESE ARE ON THE sTARTER ON a Toro Groundsmaster 223D

with a Mitsubishi L3E engine. Neither the Toro book or the Mitsubishi book had any torque specs I could find

The engine was used in a bunch of different brands of equipment and on several different kinds of equipment.

The Toro Starter part numbers
67-4600, 70-8760

Mitsubishi Starter numbers M2T50281, M002T50281, M002T50281ZC

From the Toro service department - 12 to 17 ft lbs

I am new to this forum. I just acquired a groundsmaster 322d. Model/serial 30788 - 91288

The hood says 332d but the numbers may reflect it being a 1999 325d (IDK?)

Anyway, my issue is related to hydaulics.

I get NO movement forward or backward. I get NO movement when I try to lift the implement up. I get NO steering via hydraulics.

With that, I will say that it appears that the former owner tried lifting this unit with a forklift because it looks like the bottom of the hydraulic oil filter is crushed up from the bottom.

One other note, is that the relief valve IS closed, yet I can push the tractor forward and backward by hand.

Any thoughts as to what I may need to do to get all 3 hydraulic systems operating properly, would be greatly appreciated.

If there is an air leak at the top of the filter, the hydraulics don't work.

If the hood is original it is a 1989:

If there is an air leak at the top of the filter, the hydraulics don't work.

I did end up buying a new filter. I had t o readjust the pickup line connection and tighten the fitting to the charge pump. With the new filter topped up with oil and installed, I fired it up and I have hydraulics! I am making a neutral adjustment and then putting on the ground to see how it works. Turns out that this was a fantastic buy and I will be ready for the winter snow in a day or two.

Thanks

Needed to use the landscape rake and didn't want to get the Toolcat out. Remembered when I got my first traction unit I had clamped a receiver hitch onto the lift arm back in 2004:

Since the rake fits in a receiver, I clamped a long one onto the 328D's lift arm:

And raked some long stuff:

Took a short video of the rotary broom in action on the 322. The snow was pretty wet and heavy, so a challenge for the broom. It works better in fluffy snow, but this gives a good idea of how good it works.

Pulled the Groundsmasters out today after a long Winter sleep. Did a complete service, we’re ready for the season.

Changed the mower gearbox oil today. I figured after two seasons it was time. After draining I could tell it was pretty filthy, so will be changing every season from now on.
