<font color="blue"> Anybody have Both...Treadle pedal AND a Twin pedal.
Which do you prefer? Why? </font>
A little late to the conversation... but here's what I've experienced.
Our International has a forward and reverse pedal, both on the left side. It is very nice for loader work and brush hogging, anything that requires frequent speed changes, but once in a while I have to use the brakes on a steep hill to hold it when doing precision work. If I am facing downhill and want to move my foot from forward to reverse without rolling an inch, I have to use the brakes, which are located under my right feet. It works OK this way and is pretty darn good for a large tractor. I like it and can operate it comfortably for hours.
I spent a couple summers mowing with a Kubota lawn tractor with the treadle on the right foot. Toes for forward, heel for reverse. Felt kind of awkward and I really didn't care for it compared to the International split pedal set up.
Our Power Trac has a treadle... but not like a Kubota. The rocker is between your feet, so the forward pedal is your right foot and the backward pedal is your left foot. If you step down on one pedal, the other has to go up and vice versa. This arrangement works out great. You just keep your toes on both pedals. I find this arrangement superior to anything else I have driven. If I am doing precision work, my feet just naturally keep the tractor in position, no matter the slope. To me, it is the best system out of the three.
