Re: Anybody using Amsoid diesel oil in kubota?
The only vehicle I use Amsoil in is my Thundercat. That's pure synthetic and about $35.00 per gallon. I use 15-40 Delvac in everything else. I always change my oil at or before the prescribed intervals as clean oil is cheap insurance. I'd consider running a synthetic like Amsoil if I were to extend my drain intervals. I'm against that. I believe that oil gets contaminated with the by-products of combustion and should be changed regularly. The Amsoil is tooooo expensive for that. Go to Murrays, get Rotella or Delvac and change it often.
As far as hydraulic oil, I'd use the Kubota UDT, that's what I use in my 5030 and I farm with it. The head mechanic at the dealer that I deal with told me that the only difference other than price between UDT and Super UDT was the flow characteristics at low temperatures. The Super has a lower initial viscosity as opposed to UDT. However, the Super also has a super price. An interesting note is that he also told me that Valvoline makes the UDT oils for Kubota.
