After several dozen times, you would think I would learn. First it was a full 5 gallon bucket of hydraulic oil and today the case for my Porter Cable random orbit sander. These are just two of the larger items I have manged to destroy by leaving them in my loader bucket, forgetting about them and then proceeding to use the bucket as though it hand nothing in it. Today it was my sander case, never even used yet, fortunately the sander was not in it. I've lost tools, chains, and other miscellaneous items as well only to find them later out in the field where I dumped a load. Wouldn't you think I would learn? This ever happen to you or is it just me? Rat...

So far I buried one chain, partially buried a shovel and broken a handle on my hand post hole digger by leaving them in the FEL. I know I buried the chain because I happened across part of it poking out of the ground several weeks after I had worked that area. Never even missed it. Fortunately it has a heavy zinc coating so not a bit of rust.

Anymore when I am using the FEL I have the box blade attached. It has a pretty good area for putting things like rakes or shovels. The chains I just make sure I put back behind the seat when I finish.

Heck, Rat, I've come to think of it as a normal part of operating a tractor with a FEL. Like you, I keep thinking I'll learn, but it seems that my attention span from the time I set tools in the bucket until I see something that needs a little push/lift/scoop is woefullly inadequate.

Worse than just talking about it, I have <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.tractorbynet.com/forumfiles/33-130114-BuriedTools.jpg>photo documentation</A> of one such episode.

Nah, not me - I have a teenage boy to lose my tools for me/w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gifI guess when he is gone, I can go back to losing my own tools.

Rat,
Been there done that...
I once left a PHD, shovel, and rake in my FEL on my BX2200. You would think one would notice the handles sticking out. A few days later I went out to the yard to move some loose rock into the pond and dumped everything in the pond. Glad the neighbors did not see that one./w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif

Yeah, I dug some gravel with my Sthil saw in the bucket and then carefully dumped it and the gravel on my drive and then attempted to boxblade it. Good thing I had two. J
