Anyone else have an unusually large number of hummingbirds this year?

I guess we still have hummers here in N Georgia. And I'll have to refill this feeder

Getting buzzed by rufous and Allen's hummingbirds on their way south at the moment, one at a time through here.

It's fun, they sound just a bit different than our resident Anna's, at least to me, so I always look for them when I hear them.

We have not seen any but the feeder has gone down some so it will stay up a little while longer for any stragglers.

We had crazy hummingbird traffic this year, July, August and some of September. Much more so than I ever remember. My wife had 3 feeders setup. We are in the Buffalo NY area. I haven't seen any in the past few weeks. We still have one feeder setup just in case.

Ours are mostly gone now. I haven't seen any since Wednesday.

I had five yesterday. When I first looked this am, I had two but then later I saw a three at the same time.

I believe that there are still birds on the move. My count this am was two then three. My wife saw seven at the same time. I was only seeing one this evening. The forecast is for the overnight temperature to dip into the 40's the next couple of days or so. That may be the end of the migration.

Well, I think that the season is over. We had four birds on Oct 8, single sightings on the 9th, 10th and 11th. Nothing since then though I did notice the feeder was down a bit. That might have been from me bumping into it and getting sugar water in my hair.

So, now I am waiting to hear the snow geese and sand hill cranes moving through. Love that sound.

First week of October we had some come through and empty down to the last drop when I wasn't around.

Traffic is getting pretty skimpy here on the south shore of the BIG lake.

No more seen for the last 5 days now. Feeders are coming down for the Winter.

I think spider season has arrived though. They're webs are everywhere!

I have one feeder up but have not seen a bird in three days, yes I noticed the spider webs.

Come on now little "baby", you got to go! I just saw a single bird again. Been seeing single birds sporadically since my last posting. On the days that I have not spied one, I notice a slight drop in the sugar water on my single feeder.

Same here. We finally took our feeders down after not
seeing a single hummer for 3 straight days. We'll miss
seeing them for a few months, but, they'll be back!

With the fall winds, we've had a few of what I believe are hummingbird nests on the ground. They are so incredibly tiny.

One of the winter resident (actually year-round residents) Annas buzzed me yesterday when I was switching feeders. It has been warm here this winter, no need for the heaters, yet anyway.
