I got my truck for the long haul. My '01 Ram CTD is only 10 years old and 150k miles. The ring are just getting seated... I probably won't look at anything for another five years or so. Even then, at this rat, my truck will only have 225k miles or so.

Yikes.. that pic is UGLY... and its also probably $50,000.

Na, ill only buy a rig that's at least 2 years old any more.... i wont take that kind of value drop again.

I'm a GM fan, but that truck in the first picture, concept or not, is UGLY. If the GM looks like that, my next truck may well end up being a Dodge, if rumor is correct that the Aisin transmissions will make their way into regular Rams and not just the cab and chassis trucks. Of course that assumes that I buy another diesel and not a gas engine.

Looking at the picture, it doesn't look very truck like. Looks more SUV with a bed morphed on. And, they are touting rumors of a Vette engine in it. Not a good truck motor; Kinda like when Dodge dropped the Viper-type motor in the Ram for a couple years.

Bet it is cushy inside...

Yes. Still building trucks here in Ft.Wayne. This is a concept pic. No pics of production models yet. I love the first reactions of the concept pic. I saw this one comming. Check out the huge rake on the windshield. Rumor on the floor is that the GMC and Chevy trucks will look much more set apart than years past. We'll just have to wait and see. GM is keeping the new trucks a huge secret. Remember when GM released the new bodystyle in 1988? Everyone had the same reaction. "That's one ugly truck". That bodystyle ran for 10 years and saw minor changes. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Yeah, but they were ugly in 88. Took them until around 95 to make good looking truck out of it. A decent grill and headlights go a long way. Seems like whenever anyone releases a new body style it is always ugly, takes em a few years to clean up the appearance.

as much as I like my past GM trucks, I think I will never buy another one since GM started standing for Government Motors

Agreed. I will not be buying so it does not matter.

I agree its ugly as a concept as others have stated but I am sure it will not be that dramatic when it hits the streets. I will commend GM for taking a risk and updating the line up. I have not really cared for this last version of the GM trucks. I really did not like the one before it either only due the hood lines and the squared off wheel wells.

The engine line up will be the real story. Will they follow Fords lead and do something similar?

I will still never understand the GMC Chevy thing. Drop the Chevy and make GMC your truck line. It makes no scene to have two identical trucks sold under 2 different brands. It did not work for Dodge and Mitsubishi, Dodge and Suzuki, Dodge and Sterling, Ford and Lincoln, ect. It has worked for GM all these years but is still a stupid marketing thing.

I am amazed we made it 2 pages before the govt motors quote made it in. Concept is ugly. I hope they do not follow ford. At least not the way of turbos on a gas engine. I think sometimes the cost of one turbo replacement much less 2 is overlooked.

I don't know..My '91 Chevy was a nice looking truck, according to others anyway..There was no material difference in appearance between my 91 and 97...The 97 just had more toys.
