Reckon I'll be driving my '95 1500 another year...they say it's "sleek" looking, but that ain't the word that comes to mind!

'95 was a good year. Mine has over 208,000 miles and still strong. Never had much to do except routine maintenance. Always dependable.

Just hope the 2011 will last as long and do as well.

as much as I like my past GM trucks, I think I will never buy another one since GM started standing for Government Motors

Chrysler is the same as GM as far as I'm concerned regarding government ownership.

I will still never understand the GMC Chevy thing. Drop the Chevy and make GMC your truck line. It makes no scene to have two identical trucks sold under 2 different brands. It did not work for Dodge and Mitsubishi, Dodge and Suzuki, Dodge and Sterling, Ford and Lincoln, ect. It has worked for GM all these years but is still a stupid marketing thing.

Chris

Agreed, an expensive marketing arrangement. I see Suzuki is selling rebadged Nissan Frontier's now.

Mabe the new bodtstyle will lean toward the GMC All-Terrain concept we saw earlier this year. Does this look better to everyone? GMC Sierra All Terrain HD Concept being considered for production

This looks like GM got their idea from the Ford Super Chief concept.

I gave up on shopping for a wife, I bought my Bobcat instead

:D

Smart man.

I really wish Toyota and Nissan would consider making a serious F-250/F-350 contender with enough options and configurations to give additional choices to pickup buyers not wanting to buy the Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac (a.k.a. GM & Dodge) versions.

I don't. Way too many imports in this country already to compete with. I don't understand why Americans want to see American companies fail. This just puts American workers out of job. The government spends enough tax dollars on other countries as it is. I will not feed the pockets of the Japanese when I can keep Americans working. The three American automakers have to compete with Toyota, Nissan, Volkswagon, Kia, BMW, Benz, Audi, Suzuki, Honda, etc...... If the American automakers could export our products on the same level as America takes imports, I wouldn't have a problem with it. It's almost hard to believe that GM had over 60% of the market in car and truck sales in the mid 50's. Any American that was willing and able to work had a job back then.

Top, I read more Buicks are exported , than being bought here? GM could build a very good product, but it looks like they only want it to last 2 years? Just saying from my own use...They have the designers, why not use them? IE Camero designed in ENGLAND?

I can't speak for the Buick plant in KS but I see the build sheets on 460 plus trucks every day. We build very few exports compared to domestic builds.

The number one Chinese car is a Chevy. The Buick Regal, designed and built in Germany, The Camaro was designed in Australia, built in Canada. My mother is an exec at GM - this year she will be going to China, Brazil, Germany, Italy, South Korea, Japan and Mexico, and most of them for multiple times. She has nearly 1200 people that report to her. She tells me all the time that she has to stay up late because they have to have conference calls with Germany, Korea, China and since they are all on different clocks they have to pick awkward times. Point being that I'm forced to buy GM, but if not I would still buy one of the big three even though a lot of cars are built and designed elsewhere that wear one of the big three's logo's.

BTW, Since this thread was started I called her up and asked her about the trucks that were coming out. She said they were a complete redesign and looked really good of what she had seen - not like the photos in this thread. She said they have a full one made and has to go look at it yet, all she has seen is pictures so far. I guess we wait longer.

I didnt want to see an american company fail, I wanted to see the american company succeed on its own without government interference and with the employees helping the company rather than hindering it

Sorrry to disagree with you, but that thing is ugly. I am not a GM hater. I would buy another GM product, just not a truck that looks like that. Just my opinion.

That truck is ugly and I am all for Chevy I rather my 2011 Chevy 2500 diesel any day

I heard the other day that Toyota is actually exporting vehicles built in America back Japan for sale. I don't know how true that is or have anything to back it up. It sounds funny and possible though.
