Anyone ever "delete" the dpf on a tractor?

Why did the thread drift to trucking regulation from Farm TRACTOR engine modifications? Personally I don't care about trucking regulations. If I delete DPF from my TRACTOR the state troopers will not swarm my property to inspect my little machine. We don't even have emissions requirement for vehicles in my county. No building codes or inspections for anything I do on my property. No permits to build anything including septic systems or ponds.

Only reason I know the federal gov exists because they pay people to do stupid stuff in the National Forest and and now and then clear cut sections only to leave most of the wood on the ground to become a fire hazard.

The discussion very naturally went from tractor engine modifications, to the legal ramifications of doing that (examples were given that were tractor specific), to how that compares with on-road diesel engines modifications, to regulations in general. This is how it works in an open forum with > 100 comments. It is a discussion, not a wiki.

But it’s not that way everywhere. While your area may be under regulated, some TBN members live in HEAVILY regulated areas. We have people looking out their windows calling the cops on anything they see being done just they can “feel good” that they busted someone doing something

Yes! That is nice, but I always thought ”there’s nothing to hide if you’re doing nothing wrong”.
Unfortunately, many people like to cause trouble.

I do have things to hide, my food sources. Don't want my dogs in the road. Nothing locked. Just don't like anyone concerned about what I do unless invited. Since I seldom leave here, it should not bother anyone.
I'm last person to cause trouble for anyone, unless you bring trouble to me on my property. I don't care if your load is too wide or too slow. I'll wait -- never in that big of a hurry. I put my neighbors cows back in the pasture if they get out, clear the road after storms, fix the ditches & road the county does not, etc. Don't care what other do on or with their property. All my vehicles that road registered are 100% legal have not even had a parking ticket in 25 years.
Don't drink, don't do drugs, just smoke a tobacco pipe.

Getting ready to retire and then I doubt I'll visit public places except for extreme need. Just hope the rest of world is willing to leave me in peace as well.

Well I do have a plan for that..... Move my Bull to the front near the road, backed up by my pack of LGDs. After this summer the fencing in the front is getting started. Currently I only have the back 40ish fenced. Another 50ish to go. I'm set back a ways with a creek/pond between my shack and the gravel. Norman likes to greet everyone

Our entire frontage has been fenced for years. Of course living at the end of the power line on a dirt road, not much in the way of traffic anyway, other than neighbors. Our decidedly unfriendly pup has the run of the entire frontage and he generally don't like strangers. The driveway to the house as well as the one to the out buildings has infra red proximity alarms so we know if anyone drives in, malicious intent or not. I used to run cattle in there but sold the heard 2 years ago so now, just the pup who has nice white fangs and likes to show them off.

My little guys run from 85lbs (little one) to 150+, 3 of them are close to 6' on hind legs. Currently I still have business running but will shut down in 2024. Thought about selling but I like living here and the property is paid off. Once I close shop taxes drop to farm rate so it should be under $1k per year. Not bad now less than 2.5K for 92+/-. I'm tucked into holler and from the road you can't see much. Have not had a theft problem since the little one jumped into a couple of car windows at 2 am with bad intentions.

I had to click on your location as I had never heard of that town. I grew up in Stoutland. Dad is just outside Lebanon, I have 2 stepsons in Lebanon and I have a few Cousins in/around Lebanon, some in Waynesville and some in Independence. We are planning to move back near Lebanon in about 5 years when I retire. Wife wants to be around her boys and grandkids, 2nd one just born in June and 3rd is due around March. I hope my Dad is still around then, he's 87 now but still going pretty strong.
