Not sure in your area. If it's straight and not rusty, $16K here easily. I'm in rural AG area. High demand.

With that low of miles, very good condition, not all high horsepowered up,
no rust and top level interior $16-20k no problem. I saw a local 2002 F250
7.3 Lariat auto CC 4x4 looked like it came off the showroom floor. I think
it was garage kept and never pulled a trailer. He was asking $26.5k and it
sold quickly.
I have had about 10 people ask if i wanted to sell my truck. I tell them my
son has first dibs. Of course he wants me to pass it along to him.

Yep, I lowballed to minimize argument. Your prices are more realistic.

My thoughts always end with, "okay, sold it, now what do I do? Go pay an inflated price for a replacement? What's the gain?" :)

Well I couldn't resist the temptation and bought one. 2017 F-450 King Ranch. It is on the train right now and should be at me dealer for me to pick up early next week.

I really like my 16 GMC Denali Dually but it is only rated to two around 23k and the 450 is rated to tow 32,500. I have a 15 ton gooseneck trailer I load heavy to around max capacity so the beefier truck is really needed. My hopes are it handles the load well and I can sell my semi.

These trucks are very expensive but if you use them for work like I do it is justifiable and is a good write off. It is costing me 20k to trade but the purchase will save me about 8k in taxes so for 12k net I think it is worth it. We used to keep our work trucks for years and years until they were wore plum out and while I thought it was saving money it really wasn't. The downtime cost of when older trucks break down when you need them for work exceeds the cost of staying in newer ones.

Well stated.

Congrats on the new truck. Pics and opinions please. You will have valuable comparison information to share with the brand switch!!!

Man! Your a lucky dog! I wish I could've found one like I wanted so I didn't have to order. Be sure and post up lots of pics when it comes in. Have you test drove them yet? 65 at 2k was fine with me

No I haven't drove one. Seems crazy huh? I didn't drive a GMC before I bought my current truck either.

I was eyeing and researching the 17 F-450 and they looked awesome but I figured would take a while to get. I looked on Autotrader and the local dealer showed to have one. I called them and a guy had ordered it and then the deal fell apart or something because he couldn't t get financing so it was available so I snatched it up. It is almost exactly what I want except it doesn't have all the cameras or adaptive cruise which I would have liked but aside from that it was exactly how I would have specified one. They sold it to me for 72k and offered 52k on my current truck which I paid 60k for which I didn't think was bad.

Factory ordered a 2016 and no complaints... steering on rough roads could be better.

I've been seeing a lot of pickup car haulers with 30K stickers on them going up and down the state... one today with 5 vehicles on the trailer.

Here any trailers other than RV/Boat of 10k require a commercial license so the demand is not as great...

In fact a fair amount of Super Duty F250 and F350 are optioned with the under 10k plate... guess it is a California thing.

Man that's awesome. What was msrp? They had to be getting into their hold back quite a bit cause there's nothing but a 1k rebate right now. People need to hurry up and snatch the 16s so they will start discounting the 17s.

Msrp was 77k. They actually sold it for 74k and gave me 54k. Same trade difference they just juggled the numbers differently. I picked it up yesterday. I got the windows tinted this morning and installed a 95 gallon L shaped diesel tank and a weather guard tool box this afternoon.

My first impressions are I really like it. When I went from my 2015 platinum to my 2016 Denali I really thought the Denali rode better than the Platinum. This 450 rides betwee than the Denali which surprised me as I thought it might ride like a tank. The steering is super sensitive. You barely move the wheel and truck responds quickly. Going down the highway I find it kind of jerky because my GMC was not that sensitive. The turning radius is freaking amazing. I can put this big ol truck anywhere. It turns so much sharper than my GMC did.

The only negatives I can report so far is when I was under the truck installing the wires for my transfer pump I noticed a plug hanging there. It was to my passenger running board which has lights in it that turn on when you open the door. It was not plugged in. It wasn't like it came unplugged either the place it plugged in had a cap on it. I started looking around and I found two of those little plastic deals that are attached to wires and push into a hole in the frame to secure the wires that were not stuck in the holes. It was no big deal to plug In the connector and push the wire securements into the frame but it was just sloppy and makes me wonder what else they forgot. Overall though I love the truck. Huge improvement over my 2015

A 2017 brochure with coupon came in today's mail with my name on it...

Doubt there is a new Ford or any new vehicle in my future but like to see what's out there.

Glad your liking it. I've gotta call when they open today and see if my order has been picked up! Looks like a great deal btw. Our msrp' are real close but I used the x-plan from EAA

Keep us updated on how it pulls. I think it's hilarious you already put your slip tank in. This last week I've been looking at new L shaped tanks that would support a compressor on it. Don't get how guys will use 5 gallon tanks to fill. Yuck

Thanks for the report. Anxious to hear from you a year from now as you settle in.

As to the running board light fiasco, I'm guessing the dealership installed those. They definitely didn't test the lights did they!!!! :)
