It will go comfortably 37. When pressed to the floor and going slight downhill it will creep to over 40 and the speed governor will kick in at 45. The engine is really screaming at any speed over 35.

Thank you for checking it out for me. I am a little disappointed I was hoping it would cruise 45 with ease. Still not a deal breaker for me. I wonder how many miles on a tank of fuel it would go at a steady 30 to 35 mph?

Learned something new today about the transmission when I came to a complete stop in "L" then turned off the engine. Tried to re-start and could not shift into "N" without getting out and rocking the vehicle back and forth. It's best to shift into "N" before turning off engine.
No problem with leaving shifter in "H" or "R" at engine shutdown, then going back to "N" for a restart.
It don't like being left in low range at shutdown.
Anyone else had this happen?

It sometimes happens. You can restart engine in any gear (You have to step on the brake). Once the engine is running it is easy to shift. The Mule will use engine to brake going downhill. Just give it little gas to engage the clutch. Always use hand brake. It will roll regardless the gear selected or engine running or stopped.

Good to know. Mine is sometimes hard to shift from L, H or R to N if the engine isn't running.

I just picked up a Mule today, the Ranch edition and I like it a lot! Really impressed with the ride. Added the mirrors and brush guard.

Hey! Nice ride , I think you will love it. I bought mine 2 weeks ago and just had time to drive it 17 miles today. Rode real smooth but gets kind of warm here in the FL heat. I would like to look into a hood scoop and removing the front doors. A lot of heat builds up at your leg area from the radiator.
The front door hinge pin is held on with a super small snap ring.
Anyone removed their front doors yet?

Had ours for a few years now - still good as new. Don't think you will get over 40mph on it, maybe downhill with a tail wind. Rarely go over 30 with ours so I really never minded.
As for the tranny - never had any issues with it not starting. Always just hit the brake and start it up in any gear. I do agree it can be kind of hard to shift if it is not running.

I'm glad this thread is still going I am learning more and more about the mule. That ranch edition is one nice looking unit. When I look at all the utv's I keep going back to the mule it just seems like it fits my needs the best. It was the most quiet of anything I drove and the ride was great, I have read some things about the heat but it seems like all the liquid cooled ones throw heat not as big of an issue and sometimes welcome here in Wisconsin.

Installed the windshield, rear bumper and rear view mirror. I think I'm almost out of accessories to buy except a full enclosure!

Used it yesterday to spread seed and fertilizer and drag before using the cultipacker. Like it more every time I use it!

Front shocks rebound question:
My front shocks are bottoming out on rebound after crossing a small bump at maybe 5mph at certain angles.
Now, compression works real smooth. Is this normal for these shocks? It feels like a bump while going up hill with nothing under the front wheel. For reference I also have them set at the halfway notch.
