mine is rough cut not a finish mower, mine says county line, and king cutter on the paper work, how ever ill have to go out and check to see what the gear box says on it.... i believe the gear box was the same on all three mowers.
for the price i dont have any thing bad to say about the mower especially since TSC has been great about replacing them, the guy gave me free new bottles of oil each time.

I have a 5' TSC rotary, about 11 yrs old by now, cost me $499 new. It's the model TSC sold before they carried KK. It's held up well. I rarely use it anymore, maybe once a year to mow a couple acres. I used to use it to mow about 10 acres of pretty rough stuff, locust trees, etc. For the price and the way I use it, it has been a bargain compared to the better, more expensive brands. I've also had a KK finish mower for 12 yrs now, I recommend it to anyone, it's done the job I've needed. Just tonight I mowed part of my yard that must be going on 12" tall, haven't had time to mow since labor day. The grass was thick, wet and my KK did the job.

I have a 5' TSP rotrary cutter that I bought on sale this Spring for $700. I have used it for probably 8 or 10 hours mowing heavy weeds and bushes (up to 1" choke cherries). I can't see that it is any different from another cutter I had years ago that cost about $1,000. If I were doing a lot of mowing I would probably step up to the plate and buy a heavy duty model but for my limited needs I think this will be just fine.

I've got a 6ft rotary cutter that I bought from tsc last summer for $700. It is branded as a "farm force". I bought it to cut a few acres at my house and my father in laws place a few times a years so I didn't want to spend a ton of money on something I wouldn't be using very much. Well my brothers landscape company got a park contract and there is a 10 acres field that the township wanted cut every couple of weeks. The field is too rough to use their zero turn mowers so we decided to try the form force cutter. The first time the weeds/grass were 3-4 ft high but after cutting it all summer we've got it down to a 5" cutting height and the mower actually has a decent finish cut. I've put 50-60hrs on this mower and it works just like the day I brought it home. I've only gone through 3 shear pins in 2 years. I wouldn't want to try cutting heavy brush with it, for those jobs we rent a cutter to go the front of my brothers skid loader. Considering the amount of money I've made using this cheap mower I don't care if it only lasts a few years, I'll just buy another one when it dies.

I have a 7' HD King Kutter. I have used the crap out of it over the past four years and it has held up well. I punish my equipment. I also have a Bush Hog flail mower that tore itself to pieces (as in ripped the attachment points off the deck) the first time I used it. It still sits waiting to be taken to the welder to be rebuilt.
