Anyone Own or Use a Kubota M 105s?

Kubotas are generally not found on larger farms here but there are a few of this model on 6-800 acre stock farms as hay tractors 3 of which are neighbours of mine and all complain about being built lighter than main brands and repeated front axle break-ups. Ditto on the paint quality but i'm a ford/MF man so i'm used to that

For just a few hundred acres look like a good uncomplicated tractor if not worked to death, these guys are doing 500 odd hours a year .

That's interesting. I've never had problem one and I regularly load the front axle with 4x5 rounds on the front bale spear across rough no-tilled hayfields.

I had an MF with a V8 diesel and it was a royal PITA. Very weak in the rear quarters aka 3ph and like the older JD venue, loved diesel fuel.

My 105 is frugal. So's my M9.

M9000 is a popular feeding tractor on dairies around here. Similar axle to the M105, not much troubles unless you let twine get in the seals and let it leak dry.

I have it's little brother the M95s, it has the same chassis but the engine puts out 95 hp. I have had it a little over a year and I love it! I used it last summer to mow up and down large rolling hills with a batwing mower (Woods HD 315) and it never struggled.

I have the Swing Shift transmission that has 32 forward and 32 reverse speeds. Locking front and rear differentials, Cab with AC, radio, LA1301 self leveling loader, and quick attach bucket. I really like "on the go shifting" and the Hydro Shuttle reverser, great for loader work.

The only feature that mine didn't have that I wanted was: the buddy seat for my son to safely ride with me. Overall I am very pleased with the machine.

I almost bought one of those tractors from Mike and Richard at TCE a few years ago but the cab was notably smaller than the similar sized JD and, at that time, there was no option for the 'training' seat, which was a requirement for me. I've still never seen a Kuobta with the 2nd seat. Is it an option now? I've gone back and forth between Kubota and JD several times and I consider them equal in almost all aspects but cab size.

The only time I ever had twine compromise a seal was on my '0' turn lawnmower. Poly makes quick work of seals as well as bearings.

The 105 outers and the M9 outers are slightly different. The inner member is the same.

I don't want a buddy seat nor do I need one. My buddy is on my hip or behind the seat.

there are buddy seats in the largest frame size now, however your dead on with cab size. We've been asking for that for years.

Part of my reason getting my big massey was the buddy or training seat. The wife rides along and I ride along teaching her how to use the machine. Don't tell the safety police but if I'm doing something basic my son's baby carrier can be seen belted into the seat too to give mom a break.

I just bought a m105 with a brown tree cutter. The pto shaft that came on it does not have a slip clutch on it I am afraid to run it without one. Does the Kabota have a internal slip clutch or the like. Those tree cutters put som pressure on the tractor, been runing a Rhino on a 150 hp Massey and it will bog it down ane kill it on occasion..The old Massey 1150 I dont worry about much because I dont have much in i, and could part it out if I destroy it, but I am running a slip clutch on it..
