I don't think you understand what true multi-level marketing is. Some companies have clever ways to get around it but it is not the same as a manufacturer/grower selling to a distributor and then that distributor sells to different dealers. The manufacturer gets paid once. The distributor gets paid once. The dealer gets paid once. Multi-level marketing is illegal because the manufacturer would get paid kick backs(for lack of a better term) from the all the distributor sales plus the dealer sales. The distributor would get "kick backs" from all the dealer sales and so and so on. That's why it's called a pyramid scheme and is illegal.

Amsoil is set up much like Amway. It must not be illegal as, I have never heard any of the folks from Amway or Amsoil that have gone to prison. I could care less how the company and the dealers that sell it make their money. It's legal & They make an excellent product

Amway got in to major hot water, now called Quixtar!!

If I cannot buy it in ANY store, then I am not buying their stuff.

If I remember correctly. I believe Mary Kay make up products are set up the same way

I'm sure they probably don't need your money to stay afloat. I can buy this oil just about as easy as going to the auto parts , wally world etc, I don't know what happened to amway, but they have had plenty of time to do something to Amsoil if they were operating illegally

Amsoil is available at Rural King and NAPA stores around here. I have never ran it personally.

Awesome!!! I know some people swear at Amsoil but I swear by it. Thanks for the replies….at least I know it has been tested and proven in Kubota diesels. I will change it up tomorrow with a new filter.

What ever negative opinions that others have about Amsoil. I think the OP found his answer and made his mind up

Hi All,

I just hit the 50 hr. mark on my BX2370. I am sure this might have been covered before but could not find anything under a search.
The question?is it ok to run Amsoil Heavy Duty Diesel & Marine synthetic oil in this machine or is it a no no?? I know it is pricey but I run it in my Dodge Cummins and would rather use one oil for both if I can. Plus were only talking 3.3 quarts so not as bad as a change on the Ram. Any input would be appreciated.
Friend uses the HDD 5W-30 in his 1.4 million mile 2002 Kenworth (Cat engine) so I am sure it will surfice in your tractor. He increased his fuel economy nearly 1 mpg and that reaps big savings in fuel. He began using the AMSOIL when he bought the truck used in 2004 with a new engine in it. Previous engine had used Rotella (he found receipts in truck) and the engine had a major catastrope and was traded in. The new engine had Delvac installed by installer and he then changed it over to AMSOIL. He was aware of AMSOIL because he had hauled freight to them in Superior Wis several times.

PS - I use the HDD in my X728SE gas V2 Kawasaki.

I checked the price on Amsoil and Mobil 1 ESP to change the oil to on my VW TDI. Both these were about $18 for a gallon or 5 liters (forgotten which) compared to $16 for Castrol 5w30 that is for my TDI locally at Advance Auto. Never heard of Amsoil while I was working. Think it has sprung up in the last 15 years. Just a marketing outfit. They just buy their oil from elsewhere like Castrol does. Think Castrol is now owned by a British outfit such that they likely get their oil from their owner. They used to buy most of it from Exxon.

Castrol is owned by BP, actually bought them up.

AMSOIL has been around since 1972, before Mobil 1 even came to the market. They were the first to introduce synthetic oil to the automotive markert. They do not buy their oil from someone else, they buy their additives from all over the world. They design their oil and blend them in a state of the art factory in Superior Wisconsin. AMSOIL is a privately held company not beholden to any shareholders.

You can read about the company HISTORY here

Thats US Hwy 2 crossing the Bong (WWII local hero) Bridge in Superior Wis. AMSOIL factory is the big bldg. Been past there a few times.

You say they don't buy their oil from someone else and yet the manufacturing facility is not a refinery(as proof from the photo) and looks to be just a blending facility and laboratory per video . Their own video says that they buy their base stock from various places around the World and claim that they buy the best quality (does that also say that maybe they buy the best quality at the lowest price. They obviously import a specific base oil from some oil company (I could care less which one) and blend it with their proprietary additives (advertised proprietary anyway). As to whether these additives are better than any other oil, everyone can argue about that but lets not claim that they make their own base oil just as Kubota doesn't make their UDT / SUDT oil. Searches of how syn-oil is made states that it can be made from many different hydrocarbon bases other than crude oil (methane, carbon dioxide etc) using hydrocracking technology or what is commonly called reforming towers which require hi temp furnaces (not shown in any of the photos)

Gary is right. If you look at page three of their History they are dumping what looks like a Barrel of Oil into a Vat.
