I‘m guessing, based on what I paid for my Diamond C (three years ago), this Big Tex would be around $11,000.00, four months ago. Do you happen to know? I don’t have a Big Tex dealer close, they were not on my radar, for serious purchase.

The link is a dealer in Mesa, Arizona....so, yes, that is the price.

I meant, “Do you know if $11,000 would have been close to the price, six months ago?”

I think it may have been a little less than that maybe. I paid about 7K for my 10LX 4-5 years ago. A 14LX was ~8K. I'd say that one would have been 9-10K.

Oops sorry, I am not sure, I have not been looking lately, just accident I noticed this one. When I picked up my new D/C flatbed, the dealer told me that trailers have went up 17% since I ordered it in late December, of last year. This was on 4/19/21.

Not sure today but the Sikeston area was full of trailer manufacturers many years ago. Back when I was a worker bee there was a guy assigned to the heavy equipment shop. He worked 2nd shift and may have been by himself on that shift. He originally hired in as a general worker but claimed he had the skills when a job in the heavy equipment shop opened up. We were a union shop so jobs were posted in house first before hiring off the street. He was building a trailer in an unused bay in his spare time. His boss knew about it. I found out he was building it for someone else and had done this before. Myself or a co-worker asked him one night...you know "Cletus", you can buy one of them trailers pretty cheap in Sikeston. He puffs his chest out, oh not like this one they can't. Co-workers and I left. I said to co-worker, well I bet they (Sikeston trailer companies)could build better trailers if they had free electricity, welders and probably welding rods tools etc. I heard he bought the steel, axles etc but pretty sure everything else I said was correct.

our lots here in idaho are over stocked with trailers. im trying to get a woodmaxx chipper, theres like 270 people on list ahead of me. probibly august before it arrives. supply chain is down the toilet. if you try and order a generac whole house gen right now, expect delivery march 2022.
Maybe overstocked with equipment trailers. I bought a side by side recently and wanted to get a good v-nose enclosed trailer to haul it in. None available anywhere. Called Double R and Charmac there in Idaho and was told I'd have to order one....and maybe they'd get around to building it early next year! No suitable (must be 7' inside height and at least 7' wide) enclosed trailers on any dealer lots!

Last month I decided to purchase a 7K tandem to replace a single axle I had unexpectedly sold, a guy came up to me in a parking lot and made an offer for it I could not refuse, after calling around and being told by every dealer they were out or just sold the last one and would be months before they hoped to get anymore. I finally stumbled onto a dealer a little over 100 miles away that had 2 left on his lot. I told him I was on my way, cash in hand and to hold one, I had been there less than 5 minutes when someone came in and bought the other trailer. Luckily the trailer was setup just the way I had wanted one to be. For some reason tandems are a hot commodity around here and if you see one on a lot you had better grab it if you need one.

I wanted an 18 foot car hauler, flat with no sides. None in stock, and orders months out.

So I ended up getting one of four of these my Kubota dealer had in stock. Only 16 foot and only 5700 pound load rating. But I needed a trailer for hauling my RTV-X1100C and for taking my Allis Chalmers CA to the shows and it will work for that.

Only thing I hate is with the RTV or a car, you can't open the doors very much with the sides. But for the RTV if I put some inch planks under the wheels it will be enough.
