Definitely not always. But of course it all depends about what kind of discoveries we are talking.

Countries that banned it did so before any type of viable replacement was available. This caused the unfortunate deaths of millions of people and still causes 650,000 people to die each year. Most are children. Put yourself in their place. Its easy to be pics about wildlife protection when you live somewhere that malaria no longer exists.
Banning something because some studies may show it affects some wildlife but kills millions before something can replace it caused millions of malaria deaths.
My preference would have been to get a viable substitute that doesnt affect wildlife FIRST. Then ban DDT[/B]
