I think it's a matter of 1) will the PTO shaft fit right and 2) are the pins on the cutter set up such that your 3ph arms can reach and attach.

My guess is it's CAT 1 or possibly CAT 1/2 (pins going both in and out from the frames); how small do they make CAT 2 cutters?
Dont know anything about CAT 2. What i know his RC has 3 ears on each side for some reason. All other things i need to remove my backhoe and try i guess. I'll go tomorrow to try the pins first. If they fit, i'll remove the BH and try to attach it. If they dont fit, i'll ask another neighbor who has a crap load of tractors and implements. Maybe he can let use one if he has a 6 footer. But he comes back next Tuesday from his vacation.

Just buy a Flail mower instead . Please let me how it works because I have a 2515H and would like to go that route.

No flail mowers for me unless you offer to subsidy one for the team LOl.....I'll gladly report the outcome with pictures.
Seriously, read my post #9.

CAT 2 will have bigger pins, both on top and lower links. Some attachments have stepped pins proving the right diameters for both CAT 1 and CAT2, which allow you to use a CAT 1 tractor on it as well.

The lower pin spacing shouldn't be an issue if you have R1 tires. I believe with R4's, you can't get the arms wide enough without hitting the tires. Could be wrong though.

I have had a Cat 2 implement on my F36Rn, European version of the 3515R. It fitted well, even though the "n" stands for narrow and the tractor is set as narrow as possible. The front axle is also narrower than the US models.

It will lift a 6' cutter no problem but a cutter that big on a small tractor can be unwieldy. Cutters can bounce around as you are using them and hitting things. Have you gone and laid eyes on a 6-ft cutter?? Go do that.

They're pretty large, and your PTO is underpowered for it for sure.

But don't take my word for it. Call four dealers and ask them and see if even one of them would recommend it.

Do you need to lift and carry the brush hog? I never even connect the top link on my 5 ft woods since on basically flat ground. The 2400H does not lift high enough to utilize the top link swivel assembly on this woods mower. if I tighten (shorten) the top link enough to lift the rear of the mower then is close to always trying to lift when mowing so constantly jerking on the top link assembly. Your 15 series may lift higher so this may not be a concern. You may be OK Power wise if just cutting small saplings with minimal grass or weeds. You would need different lower and upper pins to go from Cat 2 to Cat one. Surprised would be Cat 2 on 6 ft cutter.

For the OPs described usage a 6ft would be just fine. My little 2610h runs a 5 footer in thick grass no problem. I often run it in 540E. On a 2515 a 5 footer would barely cover the tractors width.
Of course if there are a lot of steep hills, you won't be mowing in high range.

what i need it for is I have about 10-15 acres of heavily wooded area which i want to keep clean. I clean it 1 or two times a year. Little 6 month old saplings, hardly any grass over 10-15" high and some black berry bushes at the edges. Currently i use my ZT for it with does it easily, but i have problem with my back and after 2-3 hours mowing with ZT i need to recoup for 2 - 3 days

I think it'll handle that fine. In the woods you're going to be travelling at a reasonable rate anyhow, and that does sound like a pretty light duty job.

Here is pretty much what i have to deal with. Some places have a little more grass.
Last time i mowed it at the end of march, beginning of April. With this year's heat i doubt i'll need to mow it till next spring

I've never been a fan of using oversized implements on these smaller tractors and with those many trees around, I don't think I would want anything wider than the tractor. I see a lot of spots where the cutter would hang or possible damage something by turning and hitting a tree.
