Are there? Or if you have 5 ft, do you think it can handle 6 footer?
re you a 2515/3515 with 6 ft cutter?as long as the mower doesn't exceed 2400lbs and the required pto horsepower is 21hp or less( preferably less) than you can use a six foot rotary mower, however 99% of the 15 series tractor that had been sold here left with 5ft rotary cutters but 6ft finish mowers( these require less hp to run a finish mower), finding a 6ft that falls in that spec requirement might be difficult though.
spec difference usually just boils down to the specific type of gearbox on the mower itself, it just depends on what the gearing inside is rated for, temp, speed etc.A

Interesting data. Were can i get those numbers. how is 2400 lb was calculated?
Land pride for ones. Look the link for specs. I just dont understand why the HP requirements are different for Landpride and bushog for instance given all other specs are similar. It is why i'm asking Branson 2515 owners with 6 ft RC

Why?Don't put a 6' cutter on that 2515, it will be too big both in HP requirements and weight.
The RCR1872 landpride is 737 LB where 2515 lift capacity is 3306LB. 4.5 times more so, we are good here( it is about your note how much it can carry)spec difference usually just boils down to the specific type of gearbox on the mower itself, it just depends on what the gearing inside is rated for, temp, speed etc.
as for where i got the specs from for lift and pto horsepower, i pulled those from the service manual for the 15 series on the specs page.
as for how they actually calculate what specific models can carry, tbh i have no idea they do all that in the engineering department in korea.
I doubt it's too big for weight, but unless you're just cutting fairly short grass, and not going very fast at all, I suspect a 6' cutter will be too much for 21hp at the PTO.Why?

My 29hp at PTO gets bogged down in 3' grass on my 5' cutter (granted I cut it pretty short).
In the late spring I use a huge class 1/2 80" rototiller on my tractor (hey it was cheap). It's definitely out of my tractor's range, hp-wise. But, I absolutely creep in low range, and it works. It would suck if I was doing an acre or more, going that slow. Your using a 6' rotary cutter is going to be similar; it'll work, just going slow. Probably too slow. Know anyone with a cutter you can borrow?
I think it's a matter of 1) will the PTO shaft fit right and 2) are the pins on the cutter set up such that your 3ph arms can reach and attach.I'm not going to cut much grass. I let my neighbors do it for hay. what i need it for is I have about 10-15 acres of heavily wooded area which i want to keep clean. I clean it 1 or two times a year. Little 6 month old saplings, hardly any grass over 10-15" high and some black berry bushes at the edges. Currently i use my ZT for it, but i have problem with my back and after 2-3 hours mowing with ZT i need to recoup for 2 - 3 days. My tractor is a much softer ride, this is the reason i want to go with RC
Great idea, just called one of my neighbors, apparently he has a 6ft cutter which he is willing to let me to try.
The only problem he thinks it is CAT 2. Can i run a CAT 2 on my CAT 1 for an hour without changing anything?
