Some years mowing got to be a chore. Especially when we got a lot of rain and we were mowing every three days. But this year has been real nice. Now that it has cooled off a little I am enjoying it more than ever. I wouldn't mind a little rain to keep the dust down but the dry weather has allowed me to bush hog some of the wet spots that were getting a little wild. How's it going out your way?

It has been pretty dry here so mowing was slow. We got a couple of inches of rain a week or so ago and now things are greening back up and growing again. I mowed 2 acres yesterday evening with a riding mower. I have my tractor sort of dissassembled right now, replacing some seals, brakes, wiring harness and actually am painting it as well.

I'm still enjoying the mowing. Haven't had much rain this year.
Went about 6 weeks without mowing. Then we started getting some rain.
So I have been mowing again. I enjoy mowing since I got the 8N.
My only gripe is the price of gas to mow with.
I fenced off a large part of our yard and opened the gate to the neighbor's cows.
I figure those cows are saving me $10/week in gas. Plus the free fertilizer.
And I fenced off the part in the woods where it was overgrown
and now the cows are cleaning that all out real nice.
What they aren't eating they are tromping down. Looks great in there now.

Of course when I'm not mowing I'm moving dirt with my dirt scoop.
I have been working on filling in a ditch and a few other spots.
I figure about 10,000 more trips with the dirt scoop ought to do it.
Even with the price of gas it's still cheaper than buying loads of dirt.

Morning Chris.
Indeed the cooler temps makes it all around better mowing, but up here in the pucker brush we could use dryer conditions or it shall be heavy duty trimmer w/blade for those wet areas...grrrrrr!...getting stuck is no fun. :(

That is a beautiful landscape. I'll bring the cigars, you supply the tractor. A nice Fuente maduro in a 50 ring? :)

Picture postcard for sure!! Morning view like that I would have the tractor in first gear and slowly puffing on the cigar...only time for stopping to enjoy hot cup at the height of the land.

I'm not enjoying it as much as I would if I had a large RFM! But the cooler/dryer weather has certainly been better than the hot/wet mess of weeks past. I finally got to mow one of my swampy areas, too. Much more to go, but it's nice to be able to hit some of the lower areas without constantly flinging muddy water up your leg!

Sounds like a deal to me :)

And Thomas, I like the coffee also, but too much and then we have to make too many pit stops :)

I enjoy the mowing but because of the lack of rain the grass that's really growing around the weekend place is where the sprinkler system is. Last 2 trips I pulled out the old riding mower instead of putting the FM on. But then getting on the L2500 after the rider makes me enjoy the L more!
